5+ years of predicting some big injury is going to happen to Dame due to overuse, while he is about to finish his 9th straight season without a major injury. There are so many examples of players getting less usage, while suffering major injuries; yet I'm guessing when Dame finally suffers a serious injury, people will think it's because of overuse.

Though i don't really know how good they are or can be? I do believe this to be true. That 4-6 over the last 10 could very easily be 7-3 or even 8-2 with as close as the game were. They certainly played well enough to beat the Celtics the first time as well. They played well enough to beat the Clippers and Nuggets. Losing that first one to Memphis was a hard pill to swallow. In turn they also could have lost that game to the Spurs. They were one point away from a 8 game losing streak.

Of the game was close he wouldve played 40 minutes a might after player 39 minutes.

That is indeed running him into the ground.

Wait a minute? Are you suggesting that because of the losses LA and Dal had the Blazers should have simply not played their starting lineup? Like you wanted him to start Little, RHJ, Jones, Ant and Melo/Giles? Then come off the bench with CJ2 and Blevins maybe throw Kanter in there?

So if Stotts does this and they get blown out of the gym (Which they would have) you would not have come back and asked " Why with the chance after the losses by LA and DAL didn't he go for the win?".

What coach in the middle of a win streak and needing wins in a very tight race is going to do that? Now against the Cavs??? I could see him sitting a player or two because the level of talent and the next game being the Lakers. But at no time would i ever expect him to sit "All his Starters". On top of that the league has rules about this no?

So you also have another thing going on. The Hawks finally started allowing fans in the arena. It's only 3000 or so but they are allowing fans. How do you think it's going to fly if when you finally get a chance to go to a game the Blazers rest Lillard and a huge Carmelo Anthony fan (yes contrary to what this site represents Carmelo Anthony sells tickets and gets media attention) doesn't get to see Melo move into the top 10 all time scoring list?

Now you just called a number of people on this site "Stupid". Not only that but a few even "Liked" your comment. It's right here-
I'm going to counter with - It never ceases to amaze me the level of stupidity that some people here have about the league in general and the very nature of the business for both the owners and the players not to mention the level of competitiveness those players bring.

It truly seems you cannot see the forest for all the trees. You want to call people stupid then make a statement solely based on your personal feelings about the situation and the team. Think about that or ignore me i don't really care. Just trying to show you another side that may not be apparent to you.

by the way, Blazer Broadcasting says the loss to Atlanta was no problem because they got to cover Melo breaking into the top-10 in scoring

he's scored over 27,000 points; only 1700 have been for Portland; yet, Olshey believes Portland's duty is to be custodians of Melo's legacy. Blazer Broadcasting is following that script

You will have to give me a little more on this? Somebody on our broadcast said the loss last night was "NO PROBLEM"?

After 9 seasons, I feel like we're playing with house money at this point. Very few elite players have missed less games in the last 9 years.

But wait, I'm supposed to be mad at his overuse and it's near certainty to cause him to get hurt?

I think they’re merely suggesting that this was a “sure fire” schedule loss due to the minutes played by key players who may or may not be injured.

What I bolded — only a moron would say that. It doesn’t take a nuclear scientist to figure out when is an appropriate time to rest players is. For instance, the timbers pretty much took a “schedule loss” this past weekend because they were prioritizing the CCL game vs Club America. I would argue you are the one who can’t see the forest thru the trees if you can’t see how resting key players, in a most likely loss, is beneficial in the long term.

Any smart coach who wants to win in the playoffs would do that. Pop has done it notoriously in middle of playoff races. The heat have done it. You could argue the Lakers are about to do it with LBJ (if this was the playoffs you think he sits out the next two games? Lol). Particularly if you have players that are playing thru injuries. I’m not going back thru the history books but many teams have done “load management” towards the end of the year.

also the blazers shouldn’t give a rat fuck about what hawks fans think about us resting players, which is NOT against the rules unless it’s prime time or something. Is their opinion of us resting players gonna get us healthy? Help us win a chip? Uh? No? So they can pound sand. Maybe that’s why popvich has rings and we don’t? He doesn’t give a shit what ppl think. He gives a shit about winning.

and it doesn’t seem entirely like this opinion is based on personal opinion; but rooted in history of the game. Your opinion, however about the league and basketball seems personal opinion.

since ya know, it’s not against the CBA. And that’s their for business and basketball reasons.

Pop will always be remembered for blowing a 32 point lead against the lowly Celtics.

    duhhhh

and you may need to invest in a sarcasm detector

as for me, I have not once ever been a fan of Melo, and am even less of a fan now. The broadcast spent a lot of last night gargling Melo's balls...it irritated me, and with Kent/Hurd the irritation level is already high, bordering on toxic. And yeah, I think I'm allowed to criticize Blazer broadcasting

good to see you back by the way
