Wow people are fired up over this. Not sure how I feel, Pretty much all my guns are in a safe usually. I am sure the 2nd amendment groups are already getting the court cases lined up . Going to be interested how it all plays out. https://ktvz.com/news/government-po...to-bill-on-gun-safe-storage-ban-from-capitol/
I keep my gun in a safe. The argument against it is that prevents someone from defending oneself in a timely fashion. But I’m a badass.
No issues with safe keeping but to outlaw carrying on public property is antithetical to the constitution.
Things like this have nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with power and control. When is the last time a person with a concealed carry used it to commit a crime? Usually it's to stop someone else from committing one. But of course you rarely hear about that.
I’m not sure getting chased around the house with a knife while you look for keys is the best method of self defense. That’s just me though.
You should upgrade to a safe with a dial, number buttons or a finger print scanner. A safe that uses a key is not very safe.
Depends on the safe and the location though. A small safe in the garage is not a good idea, a large safe is very heavy and not easy for someone to steal, you can also place them in places that make stealing them much harder (like your closet or basement), you can also secure you safe into the floor or frame of the house.
If you get a suit of armor and sleep in it, then you'll be safe from those pesky knife attacks, and you'll have plenty of time to assemble whatever arsenal you need to fend off the marauders. barfo
I had a friend who was an old woman who lived in a shoe. She had so many guns, she didn't know what to do. She fired them all at a neighborhood waif; And cleaned them all soundly and put them in the safe. barfo

I don't know if this safe thing is the right idea but if this kid brought this gun from home there should be laws in place to criminally and civilly punish the parents. What those laws should be is the conversation we should be having.
I, on the other hand, think the conversation should be about the use of the word 'pupil' in that headline, which amuses me somehow. barfo
Insult to literal injury for the master of custodial arts, or janitor if you want to be a dick about it.
Meanwhile, Texas is going the complete opposite direction. Some say the state is trending blue, but I'm not so sure. I bet all those former Californians will be hunting feral hogs from helicopters in no time!
