LOL...you're a terrible internet Matlock you were replying to Fairly-Hard but talking about Tince. And he could read what you said just like I could
http://www.sportstwo.com/posts/5154494/ Just testing to see if he really believed what he was saying. To his credit, he's the first person I've made an offer like this to who actually accepted it. Unfortunately, it's really upset him and caused him to adjust his fandom rankings.
Not a good night. Both Dallas and the Lakers win... no change in the magic numbers. 5th Seed - Magic Number = 5 Portland wins or Dallas losses 6th Seed - Magic Number = 3 Portland wins or Laker losses 7th Seed - Magic Number = 1 Portland wins or GSW/Memphis losess Remaining Schedules: Dallas @ Memphis New Orleans Toronto @Minnesota Portland Houston @ Utah @ Phoenix Denver Lakers New York Houston @ Indiana @ New Orleans
laker lead has fallen to 10 with 5 minutes left now, 8 point lead with 3:46 left...plenty of time Lakers win
the way things have gone over the last few seasons, I'm halfway expecting the final game against Denver to decide if Portland is 6th or 7th seed. Nothing is ever easy
If Denver has the 4th seed locked up, they would probably prefer the Lakers the 6th, so insure they're not on their side of the bracket. Now if Denver is 0.5 games back of the LAC, and a win moves them to #3, but the Lakers to #6, I would think Denver would tank the game.
While highly unlikely, I will laugh, a great deal, if the last game against Denver lines up to determine if the Nuggets get 3rd (with a win), or 4th, and the Blazers 5th (with a win) or 6th.
Warriors can’t pass us. We have tiebreaker. So them losing doesn’t change the situation. It’s Memphis that needs to lose for us to clinch 7th. Or us winning which we will.
Well it's like this we don't want to go playin games. Due to Memphis or golden states could beat us be again we could beat those 2 teams too. We do not want to put us in that situation at all it's doesn't matter who we play in the 1st round.
Big difference between rooting and betting. Tince will root for the Blazers, just like you. However his expectations of a series win is not high. I am sure he would be ecstatic to pay you if the Blazers go as you hope. Not a bad guy, just someone with a different perspective on the team.
Appreicate that Gramps! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to pay Eric $50 after we beat the Clippers... that would be a winning trade-off in my world. Now if I bet, $10,000, I would probably want the Clippers to win because of the impact that would have on my life, but: 1) I would never bet that much on a sporting event. 2) I would never bet near that amount against my favorite team 3) Given how good of a bet taking the Clippers over the Blazers is; if I wasn't going to be rooting hard for the Blazers, I would've proposed a much higher amount. However, I kept it at a "fun" amount that would have zero impact on my rooting interest. I repeat ZERO impact.
You could very well be right. I did not look into the 3-way tie-breaker option to confirm there was no way they could pass us. If you're positive we finish no worse than 7th in a 3-way tie-breaker with Memphis & GSW, I will change it. Good catch!
Good result tonight... top 7 seed is clinched. 5th Seed - Magic Number = 4 Portland wins or Dallas losses 6th Seed - Magic Number = 2 Portland wins or Laker losses 7th Seed - Magic Number = 0 - Clinched 5.10.21 Remaining Schedules: Dallas @ Memphis New Orleans Toronto @Minnesota Portland @ Utah @ Phoenix Denver Lakers New York Houston @ Indiana @ New Orleans
If we get the 6th seed... and if we want to not play the Clips in the 1st round, we need... Clips to lose, and Denver to win. Clips are current 1 game ahead of the Nuggs, but Nuggs have tie-break! Nuggs (want to win): @Charlotte 4:00 PM Tickets as low as $39 Thu, May 13 @Minnesota 5:00 PM Tickets as low as $228 Fri, May 14 @Detroit 5:00 PM Tickets as low as $203 Sun, May 16 @Portland Clips (want to lose): Tue, May 11 @Toronto 4:30 PM Tickets as low as $59 Thu, May 13 @Charlotte 4:00 PM Tickets as low as $40 Fri, May 14 @Houston 6:00 PM Tickets as low as $58 Sun, May 16 @Oklahoma City
Dallas' loss means we control our own destiny for the 5th seed. The Knicks offense does us no favors in a loss to the Lakers. Things are really tightening up. 5th Seed - Magic Number = 3* (excluding 3-way tie scenario) Portland wins or Dallas losses 6th Seed - Magic Number = 2 Portland wins or Laker losses 7th Seed - Magic Number = 0 - Clinched 5.10.21 Remaining Schedules: Dallas @ Memphis New Orleans Toronto @Minnesota Portland @ Utah @ Phoenix Denver Lakers New York Houston @ Indiana @ New Orleans
