Not to dismiss this... but he IS playing out of possession & giving up ~8" to the guy he's guarding.

Yeah, when Powell has played against guards he's been very effective defensively and the fact is when your third in line to get shots behind the number three scorer in the nba and then CJ, how would you ever find a real rythm.

I've been fine with how he's played and hated how he's been used as a small forward or power guard or however you want to talk about having three players start and play major minutes together that are under 6'5". That's a fun novelty to catch a bunch of teams off guard with for the last dozen games of a truncated season but that shit's not going to fly in the playoffs IMO but what do I know.

You mean when we outscored them by 8 points in 5 minutes?

What funny is Aaron Gordon's standing reach is only 2 inches higher than is and AG is a pretty finesse player. That's who Norm should be guarding. RoCo should be guarding MPJ.

Are you attributing Dame going supernova to DJJ? Because he blew a layup and, much like everyone else, played no defense.

He's a better defender than Melo who provided absolutely nothing tonight on either end of the floor. DJJ was 1 for 2. Had a good cut that got us one of our few buckets in the paint. Had another than he normally would've finished. Meanwhile Melo was being an absolute garbage bag defensively, jacking up bad shots, and is a terrible fit next to Kanter. DJJ should've taken some of his or Kanter's minutes.

little bit disappointed in CJ and Powell, CJ shot really good, but overall he wasn’t really good, i'm not surprised that our fowards are not involved into the Offense, that has been the case for years. Not confident in Stotts and his Staff, he sucks at Adjustments

I don't really ever blame the refs but that game had some turning points. Certain calls by the refs and the way it was called had a huge effect on the game.

Too many turnovers. We have to keep that under 12.

Well as I tell people it's doesn't matter who we bring in play those forward position there outlet to our guards in this offense. Dame and CJ will be the main shooters in this offense. There like option QB in football they read the defense. But last night even though Dame had 40 he only score 8 in the 2nd half and he took some really bad shots last night. CJ shot well but due to Dame hot 1st half he really didn't look for his shots. He had some bad turnovers by over dribbling at times. Everyone else wasn't part of the offense. Powell struggling with his outside shot but late in the 2nd half he had some nice drives but the game was already decided by that point. Nurk I hate tell he just not the same player on both ends after his broken leg he just don't move lateral very well he lost a lot of his quickness. I know some of you guys think I am crazy but we do miss Zach especially on the defense end why say that one thing Zach does really he challenge shots and he does foul but right now even with Nurk there really no rim protector.

It's mind blowing that our three guard line-up can't beat the shit out of 5.10 Campazzo, Rivers and MPJ on offense. Except for Dame

He couldn't have been too bad; we outscored Denver by 8 points during the five minutes he was in.

Are Blazers 1-1 after two games away from home in Denver, considered difficult place to land and play?
Or have they just lost to Pistons at home?

If there was any "not so important" game this season, it was this one.
Lillard is in great form in the very right time. How can this tread be so pessimistic?

you've just quoted the preface to about 50% of my wife's sentences. I take that back....about 50% of my wife's paragraphs because she almost never stops at the first period (classless pun intended)

yeah, the I-told-you-so's can be a little cringeworthy, or at least eye-rolling...but...

there are about 8 or 9 threads right on the first page here devoted to predicting the result of a future event. Seems like those are all setting up I-told-you-so moments and situations. It's I-told-you-so overflow....maybe. Or just human nature

Aside from specific threads where the topic is literally to make a prediction, it is thrown around a ton and I get it, people want to remind others that they genuinely predicted/called it. But when its more than a one-off, its like we get it, you are Nostradamus, congrats and keep tooting your own horn.

After seeing that first game, I dont see how we lose the series even after this 2nd game.

But if we were to... as JR would say "bah God, as God as my witness that team is broken in half!"

I feel we have to take both home games to make sure we don't have to have a best of 3 and lose home court. I think we will, I just don't know how Denver does this against us 4 times.
