Support my team and the coach during the season, dont bail, and never say one way or the other about finals. I played alot of ball, and its usually all for one one for all during season if there needs to be change it should happen after season, or via trades or FA signing. Draft are like growth investments unless there is a super star in waiting and you have a top pick. We traded Wallace and his first season with the Pistons they win a cship. We traded Jermain and he became a HOF'er.
Boy.... if saying that some of you are "blindly loyal" is teeing off..... yikes. I am DEEPLY sorry that I hurt you.
You’re out of touch with reality. You thought 3-9 to close season was realistic outcome when 10-2 was the actual reality. We absolutely can win the championship this season. There’s no clear favorite right now.
I hate to put a damper your hopes Stotts get fire but I think he has 50-50 chance being back. The front office biggest concern was the defense while by stats it's improve when Nurk got fully heathy and Powell finally got use to playing here. Going 10-2 at the end and not winding up in play-in helps a lot. Getting in playoffs 8 straight times helps a lot. Now offense a lot you guys don't like but was 2nd this season so it's don't matter how predictable it is the other teams still can't stop it. Believe am not a big in our offense and defense but it's really don't matter how I feel or doesn't matter any of us feel we are not going make that decision what happens to Stotts this off season. He one more year on his contract you have solid defender coming back in Collins. Remember olshey is good salesman believe what just said that will be his sale pitch for keeping Stotts next year.
Even better than 50/50 if he wins this series vs Denver and goes 6 or 7 games in the second round. Stotts time here might not be done.
I stand corrected, still to be determined. He was a Hall of Good Player for sure and maybe someday will be?
Oh yeah, if Stotts gets wins in the second round but we lose; the organization will probably just keep him... it will be a mistake and it will be unprecedented longevity in the face of mediocrity but they'll probably do it. If we don't beat these Nuggets, I think they'll have a press conference announcing him stepping down within two weeks of our last game. I do not think they'll extend him unless we somehow get to the WCF and win some games.
I'm not sure why some feel the need?....urge?....to gauge the optimal virtue of being a Blazer fan as 'speak-no-evil'. What seems pessimistic to one fan can be realistic to another. Just like optimism by one can look like homerism to another. There is no superior virtue in any of those cases, and there is no virtue at all in telling others they are bad fans. Too much of that is going on around here lately, IMO....of course, I like to speak evil
There is only one kind of fan on this site that feels like they get to define who are and who are not fans. And for some reason they're completely consumed with what other fans think about the team.
You get predictions wrong all the time but you'll never own up to them. Then you want to say others are out of touch with reality because of their predictions. The blatant hypocrisy and your lack of awareness of it makes me wonder if you are.
I don't have any insight into this because all i know is other people's opinions. I do wonder where all this certainty is coming from that he will be fired? Couple local writers came up with an opinion piece and one of those writers happens to write for a site that has another writer that writes nationally and that writer piggy backed another story. But all that has gone pretty quiet lately sine they rolled into the playoffs? I think they are playing the waiting game as well. Just like you. A number of your posts are very "On the Fence" about a bunch of topics. Probably rightly so? Does anyone really know?
There is a clear cut difference in the way some view the team. Then there is this KSF guy and the Aldo guy? Both seem to be almost unhealthy? I wonder if both of them are just having fun and posting things to get discussion? If so that is fine with me but it might be tough on others.
This. The lack of ownership for being wrong from the same people who call out other fans regularly for their opinions on how good the team is makes this place tough to hang out in regularly. To call anyone who has sought out this site to discuss the Blazers a bad fan for their opinions, is extremely self centered. it really is a dying skill... the ability for people to maintain fact from opinion and not push an opinion as fact. 23 wins 60 wins we wont win another game We are built to win it all Small sample sizes are still factual Small sample sizes skew reality all teams incur injuries, its a wash aNd doesnt matter. Blazers have not been healthy for one full season since Dame arrived. is there not any room for some middle ground? (Funny. I find myself asking the same question in the political arena as well.) Anyhow, this thread is legit. After game three i thought the same. Were done. Now i think we can pull it out. Emotions are just that. Emotions. Not facts. What would we all be if not for emotions? Robots??? This thread is entertaining.... and to toss a bit of gas on the fire, some might consider a blind faithful a bad fan as well. Never admitting the team has holes or areas of need for improvement, leaves the team in a treadmill situation, never getting better. So who really is the better fan? The rose glass fan who believes all is perfect and we are fine as is, or the pessimistic fan, constantly pointing out areas of inefficiency and a need for improvement? Which mentality, if the team were to follow, would one think will have a better chance of winning it all? its why many successful people are not completely happy. They are wired to see the faults and successfull people fix those faults. Now, which type of person is Stotts and Olshey? This should be the point of discussion. Not calling out fellow fans, regardless of stance. Stop tryin to tear each other down. We are all in the same Blazer Boat of fandom.
Let let Jody and her people responsible for hiring and firing the TB Pres and coach deal with the matter after the season is over. Some will like the outcome and some wont.
