This is what being a blazer fan is all about. Constantly getting kicked in the balls.

Stotts was at least a likeable guy.

I won't support Jason Kidd. I won't support wife beaters. Period. My mom was married to a guy before she met my dad who used to beat the shit out of her. I have no sympathy or patience for wife beaters. Scum of the earth.

You do realize the wife thing happened in like 07 or something like that right -- now i am not saying it's ok but people are allowed to make HUGE mistakes learn from them and be BETTER. If you do not want Kidd cause his record coaching wise screams as average or worse fine but to damn him cause of mistakes he has made and hopefully learned from that is.

Kidd seems like the perfect coach if Vegas were to ever get an NBA team.

Actually it was 2001. Phoenix traded Kidd to NJ because of the domestic violence charge. Then NJ went to 2 straight Finals.

I hope Portland takes about 10 times as long to hire a new coach as it took to fire the old coach after game 6

time for due diligence and to at least take the temperature of Blazer nation about the baggage of Kidd and Billups

I went with Fuck Yeah but not because one player wants him. I think he would be a helluva coach and attract talent that normally wouldn't want to play here.

I am of the mindset that the Blazers are bigger than one player. I love Dame and hope he stays but nobody is entitled to a Championship and i can't stand all of the talking heads saying Dame should bounce and win one. Fuck 'em all. We are the Blazers and RIP City is ours.

We have a great history. We are a Winner and have one of the best Fan bases in the nation.

So yeah, i am good with Kidd but not because of any Dame Dolla Ultimatum.

Here is a guy was reviewing Kidd when Knicks were considering him:
"On the surface, it's not terrible: Kidd has a record that is close to .500, with 183 wins and 190 losses. He also led teams to the playoffs in three of the four seasons he finished as head coach, and on the date he was fired in 2018, the Bucks were in 7th place in the East.

It could also be argued that Kidd had Milwaukee trending in the right direction on offense, going from 25th and 26th in offensive rating over his first two seasons to 13th in his third and 10th at the time he was fired during his fourth. Again: it's not all bad.

But a closer look reveals a different story. As mentioned in Tuesday's Knicks Film School Newsletter, Milwaukee trended in the opposite direction on defense despite having solid personnel on that end of the court, including maybe the most versatile defender in the league, even a few years ago.

More than that though, his teams by and large failed to meet expectations.

Starting in Brooklyn, the Nets team he took over - the one that was famously featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated with a question that can now generously be answered with "anybody decent" - was seen as a legitimate title contender before the season.

That team had a preseason over-under of 52.5 and the fourth best title odds. They finished 44-38 and barely got by the Raptors in the first round of the playoffs before getting wiped by Miami in five games.

The following season in Milwaukee is where Kidd earned many accolades, and they were indeed well-deserved, as he took a 15-win team and led it to a .500 record. But knowing what we know now, perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that a team with Giannis Antetokounmpo starting to figure things out made a bit of a leap.

The next three years, the oddsmakers gave the Bucks preseason predictions of 42.5, 34.5, and 47.5 wins. They ended up winning 33 and 42 games, respectively, in Kidd's second and third seasons, and were on a 42-win pace when Kidd was fired. Again, knowing that he had the soon-to-be two-time MVP in his third through fifth seasons during this time, not to mention future All-Star Kris Middleton, the results leave a lot to be desired."

Here is some on his last year in Milwaukee: "The Bucks defense has been plain bad for most of the season. It saw a brief uptick after acquiring point guard Eric Bledsoe, but at the time of Kidd’s firing, it ranked 26th in the league in points allowed per 100 possessions (111.3), just behind the sad-sack Atlanta Hawks. But unlike the Hawks or the Phoenix Suns or most of the other punching bags playing league-worst defense, the Bucks have good defenders. Giannis Antetokounmpo alone should be enough to build a defense around, but the Bucks also have Khris Middleton, Thon Maker and Tony Snell — all defenders with the tools to make a positive impact — and down-roster defenders who, if not as gifted, are willing contributors. There’s little excuse for them to perform so badly."

It’s just mind boggling that one of the basketball jobs in the world with a lot of money to spend with an elite player would have to stoop to that level. Hard to believe that’s the BEST option.

My post earlier was not to say the Blazers should hire him cause from a b-ball point of view he is avg at best but to say to discount him for mistakes he did in the past when he prolly learned from them and to OUR knowledge has not repeated is.

This is the problem with cancel culture people who are "Flawed " make mistakes and then asked to say sorry and then KICKED to the curb and spit on without a real chance for redemption most of the time.

ONE last time so i am clear ..... I do not want Kidd as the coach not because of his past in his life BUT because i believe he is a side grade at best to Stotts.
