Why not?! Despite the ne'er-do-wells, we were constantly top-of-the-heap! OK, I digress. I hated the "Jail Blazers" stigma, but, I mean, hey.......
In general: I loved that the Blazers competed. But even when we were competing, we had players like Scottie Pippen, who was not really a Blazer. I mean, of people who remember the Drexler Blazers AND the Sheed/Pippen Blazers, it's no contest which one they prefer. Of that era I liked certain players (Sabonis, Sheed - except when throwing towels) but I didn't really like the team as a group. Trader Bob's era was the era of the GM as the center of the story, and that's not necessarily good.
I'd love to see a book entitled, "Jail Blazers" with a chapter on each of these characters and plenty of Paul Harvey, behind-the-scenes type of stuff included. Now THAT would be a great read! Oh, and a long Forward by TB himself!
Kerry Eggers has one and he even gave away an autographed copy on the forum. I bought an autographed copy from him. Great read!
No, actually I paid for both copies out of my own pocket as bribery to get him to do an AMA in the forum.
Bob Whitsitt took charge and changed coaches. Olshey whimpered for 9 years until Jody Allen ordered him to do it.
