Also you're going to have ton more tourists traveling to Vegas to watch their hometown team play there while also having a nice vacation.

And you can have the tourists pay for the arenas and stadiums with the hotel tax. The Raiders new stadium isn't costing the residents of LV anything, tourists are paying for it.

We have had DirecTV at my house for 19 years. My wife and kids have never been able to watch a Blazer game in our own living room..... until now. I’m sure you will figure out an option.

    Look at this list
    #1 New York - 9 pro teams
    #2 LA - 8 pro teams
    #3 Chicago - 5 pro teams
    #4 Philly - 4 pro teams
    #5 Dallas - 4 pro teams
    #6 San Francisco/Oakland - 5 pro teams
    #7 Atlanta - 4 pro teams
    #8 Houston - 3 pro teams
    #9 Washington DC - 4 pro teams
    #10 Boston - 4 pro teams
    #11 Phoenix - 4 pro teams
#12 Seattle - 3 pro teams (counting the expansion NHL team)
    #13 Tampa - 3 pro teams
    #14 Minneapolis - 4 pro teams
    #15 Detroit - 4 pro teams
    #16 Denver - 4 pro teams
    #17 Orlando - 1 pro team
    #18 Miami - 3 pro teams
    #19 Cleveland - 3 pro teams
    #20 Sacramento - 1 pro team
    #21 Portland - 1 pro team

The only cities in that list that are as low as us is Sac and Orlando, but California and Florida are so saturated with pro teams that it's not really the same thing at all. It's fucking stupid that we only have one pro team (and I'm not counting soccer.)

I’d wait right before the season starts. You never know they might make a deal with them by then. That’s what Im going to do

Good point. I have no idea why the Blazers don’t dominate this whole region from Alaska, Montana, Washington state, Idaho, that’s a huge market to literally be the only NBA team around. Shit even British Columbia.

Yup. I agree. I think from all the “small” markets we’re definitely on the bigger side of them. I’ll say we’re firmly a mid size market. But definitely not say Salt Lake City

Yea I agree on the corporate part goes Vegas but Portland has tons of the food and drink industry companies that can pay for that stuff. Not including the sports wear companies we have.

Yea it’s crazy and whoever the owner for the next real pro team we get (nhl, mlb,) will be wondering why they didn’t come here a long time ago.

Portland is a huge sports supporting city. Look at the Timbers. They been sold out for over a decade now! If I was a billionaire I’d do whatever it takes to bring major sports here. It’s guaranteed success

I don't understand not including MLS but counting NHL, just because that's always been the way. MLS draws more fans than NHL does. Why would somehow getting an NHL team make us more of a real sports town.

There are more teams, more games, and more history with the NHL, that's probably why it's considered a "big league" over soccer.
