Will we ever see again a win in a Conference Finals game? I highly doubt that with the direction we have taken :dammit:

Atlanta has done all the right moves the last few years it's amazing.

It's their first win in the conference finals in the entire history of the organization. Blazers have had many. They will have more.

Are you hinting that Mike D'Antoni would be your #1?

No, actually. I’m talking about individual performance vs team. Teams gotta defend. But when a guy gets hot it’s over. You can’t defend your way around that.

8-0 in bubble without him. 2-0 in WCF without him.

I dunno. Hawks may go to Finals, but trading Doncic won’t age well. Drexler made it to Finals before Jordan and then...

So what’s with Jrue? He can stop Dame but not Trae?

Jrue stopping Dame is a myth. That team blitzed Dame with multiple defenders (Holiday was one of them) every time Dame got the ball across half court and Jrue did play really good ball denial on Dame when we'd have someone else bring the ball up. This Milwaukee team is not using that strategy on Trae... at least not yet. Again though... Jrue stopping Dame singlehandedly is bullshit.

Stopping him, no, but outplaying him, yes. Head to head, Jrue has better fg%, better 3p%, more reb, ast, stl, blk.

Yeah, that's probably because of the "let anybody but Dame beat us" strategy that NOLA always deployed. Still this year with the Bucks Jrue came out on top in those categories as well. I'm not saying that Jrue isn't one of the best small guard defenders in the league and just one of the best overall. I just think the narrative of him getting over on Dame individually lacks context.

The hawks have had a great run. I personally think they are playing their very best. One thing sticks out. They have won a crazy percentage of close games. Game one in NY was there for the Knicks to win. And remember the Philly series could have very easily been a four game sweep by the 76ers. The Hawks win game one on a call and a last shot. then get blown out in game 2. Then Philly goes to Atlanta and blows em out again. Then the Hawks win a nail biter in game four. Of course games 5,6,7 all go to the last couple possessions.
Not taking anything away from what the Hawks have done. They have been in a position to win at the end. They have however had some luck.

    51-21 with him.
Western conference #2 seed with him.
8-2 in the western conference playoffs with him. (Not a bubble play-in of teams trying to make the playoffs.)
We are talking beating the Lakers and the Nuggets soundly.

CP3 is a level5 leader... he put work ethic and attention to detail into that team, they now can perform better than other years even when he's not playing.

The Clippers without Kawhi are a mediocre opponent, so they might not need CP3 to beat them, but the Suns wouldn't have had the success this season without CP3 and likely need him for a chance to win the finals.
