This was three days ago. Carlisle not even getting a mention. Maybe we need to listen to @Mediocre Man about more candidates than the three mentioned repeatedly.
Are you really gonna say that nerlens freaking noel is the difference between a 15 win team (.182 record that Fizdale had in 19-20) and a 47 win team (.570 record that thibs had in 20-21)?
Listening to the Ringer NBA pod, Wos just said that apparently Jaylen Brown really pushed for Udoka to be hired in Boston behind the scenes, while Tatum wanted Billups.
I mean.... there's some key guys that were added in the offseason. Toppin Quickley Rose Noel Burks The team was pretty different from last season.
The Warriors went 15-50 a couple of years ago. Kerr is regarded as a great coach. Maybe it’s the players?
...I heard several players pushed for Udoka, but either way I'm guessing they passed on Billups because his allegations originated in Boston
I'm arguing that when half the team is different, it's hard to compare apples to apples. I don't follow the Knicks. I have no real opinion on the guy. But it's hard to use the Knicks as an example because of how different the team was from one year to the next.
Nate McMillan has a style that works well with young teams, but wears on veterans and slowly loses its effectiveness. The Hawks are a fairly young team so his style was apparently the kick in the butt that they needed, but his style wouldn't have worked here with guys like Dame and CJ.

This is not a good argument on how a coach is supposed to coach a defense around here. Yes I'm joking.
