Funny when it’s people like you stirring the pot. Just let it go, he’s been hired. Make a decision... either support the new coach or maybe find a new team? FWIW, I hear the Spurs are looking for more fans just like you these days.

Perhaps you should consider the switch?

Chauncey wasn't the only guy involved in the alleged incident. He has said publicly that he left that small party that night. I think there's a good chance he hasn't addressed it more is to avoid throwing the other guys under the bus. Nobody made any noise about it when he was hired by the Clips and nobody made any noise when he won an award from the league for community service and good citizenship...something like that.
It's sad that the Portland reaction is always outrage for anything that doesn't align with their agenda.

I’m not intending to stir the pot. I’m trying to see both sides. I’m actually trying to have conversations and just arguments. I also don’t believe in any of my posts did I come out against Billups.

I have said it was an asinine hire because it was

I have said there might be better candidates out the because there may

But I have no issue with Billups as coach, and hope he kicks ass.

That being said, if somehow, some way it comes out that his story is false, I’ll expect the team to fire him immediately.

So here's the part I don't understand. Why didn't the police pursue charges?

Some courtside seats for a few games and some autographed swag? Boston is a rabid sports town.

He also might not want to embarrass her. Has anyone thought that maybe the woman does not want this
story to come up after 24 years? Even if her name is not mentioned. She is probably nervous as hell right now that some investigative reporter will hunt her down for her side of the story. For all, we know she is married with kids and does not want it being discussed. If the original explanation from Chauncy was true, and she gave him a blow job in the car before going into the party.......she might prefer that it stay in the past. Don't get me wrong I am not in any way suggesting that she did anything wrong, nor deserved what came next. Not in the slightest. I am just saying that the media and the fans might want to respect her privacy as well.

The bottom line is I doubt his answers are going to satisfy the Portland media.

That's not her choice. Once she involved the police and evidence was taken, it's up to the DA if he wants to pursue charges.

Now, if she said she wouldn't testify it would make it much harder to convict, but it's still not in her hands anymore once it's set in motion.

Satisfy no, but appease maybe? He needs to be forth coming, charming and come off as sincere. That may help change some agendas?

This debate reminds me a lot of the COVID situation. It seems like everything else, peoples opinions are based on their life experiences. I feel a certain way about COVID because I lost 4 friends/family members within 10 days back in January. Reading some posts on here, there is no way people have ever lost anybody from it. No way! They wouldn't fee that way if they have.
With this topic, thinking maybe the same rings true. I have opinions about rape because I have 2 people VERY close to me in my life who have been raped. It is TOUGH! I have very strong opinions about the topic based on these experiences. Curious who here has dealt with this situation and who hasn't.

Great post as usual. I actually have both sides of this covered. My aunt was a victim of sexual assault. Nothing happened to that piece of shit because there wasn’t enough to convict him. He later was convicted in another case for the same thing. I have a zero tolerance towards it.

However, I also have a very good friend who was accused of sexual assault from a party. He lost his job, he lost his wife, temporarily. His life was hell. He swore he was not involved. After 2 months, someone finally produced video evidence that he was not one of the people involved. Moved and changed his name.

That’s why I am trying so hard to see both sides of this and be respectful to both sides.
