I am with you on this. We are both old enough to have seen it all. Both happen all the time and it is very sad.

I have two granddaughters who got covid...one has health issues now but fortunately none died....I dated a girl for several months who had been badly raped and was like a big brother to her...never had sex...just respected her pain and enjoyed her company...I also have a black friend who has been falsely accused of rape by a hooker in Manila and was in jail until it could be proven he didn't do it.her coworker came to his rescue as a witness...I can see how easy it would be to make bad decisions after a night of partying and being a bit drunk one might not check the ID of a girl who you took home from the bar....there are endless scenario's for life mistakes and that's not meant to water down real victims of rape or any kind of abuse that were forced to endure a situation they didn't ask for. Great post....I think in Chauncey's case from all I've read the last week...resonable doubt is the path forward...it's bad if you're raped and abused and it's bad if you're accused of an act that you did not instigate or participate in....it's not right to try people in the court of public opinion without clear evidence beyond a reasonable doubt....so HCP...how do you like the Chauncy hire and have you ever talked with him before?

 

It ducks because for some people in this day and age you simply can’t have a rational conversation. You try and be respectful of one side or the other and you get dragged through mud and called horrible names

Jason Kidd: White American with multiple proven charges on his record.

Which one is being targeted by the media and a certain segment of the fandom? Such a mystery!

I'm postive there were assurances there wouldn't be either of those and it was basically silly to think there would be.

 

Both were in Portland. My guess is Billups would be seeing nothing if Dallas hired him

We don't deserve Dame. When you have fans calling him out for philandering, without knowing his relationship, that is ridiculous. This is 2021. Lots of people aren't into just being monogamous anymore. Lots of open relationships. The judgment over that for someone fans don't even know is a little much.

It is 2021 now Grandpas. We eat assholes now.

There are Good, and bad Fans in every fan base. Portland has one of the most loyal in all of pro sports, PERIOD! A huge majority of our fan base loves Dame. He's Family, he's rip city! He's the 1st player in franchise history to show, you can make the BIGTIME in Portland. He has many National Endorsement deals. That has never happened here. Clyde had a small, hardly seen, deal with Kangaroos athletic shoes. Can't compare. Dame can see through the B.S. But he has feelings. LeBron has faced racism is Big ol' Smogtown. There are dirtbags everywhere. Portland treats pro basketball, like cities treat their NFL teams. So i disagree with the "We don't deserve Dame". That's B.S. Because rip city! is a special place. And while some garbage news sources like to keep throwing haymakers at Portland, it's tough, and will rise again. Dame takes those same kind of punches, and gets tougher. Better, stronger, more prepared.

 

Also we have nothing else to talk about. Blazers are out of the playoffs, can't make deals, summer league not for a good while.

I have also been on both sides. I have tried to be thoughtful and rational but admit some comments really pissed me off.

 

Our fans are extremely vocal because portland is kind of like a fishbowl. Tbe only big 3 sport team we have are the Blazers. Dame pours his heart into the team, his preparation is another level. He really wants to win with us and be our dude forever. The amount of people willing to throw pitchforks at him and say they lost all respect for him this fast is sickening. They don't even know the full story and if he knew billups past or not. They just want to throw him under the bus. That is portland for you.
