Yep i saw that. Now we need to get Simmons and I can get onboard. A part of me is now supporting Billups out of spite from the absolute madness of his detractors. I'm stoutly against Sexual Assault, but I also believe in due process and freedom of speech. I forgot a lot of people seem to think censorship is good and the court of public opinion/mob rule is a desirable thing. Short sighted fools with no sense WHATSOEVER of history.

Alright Billups get this team running like a well oiled machine that plays good to great defense thanks to our newest acquisition, Ben Simmons.

I don't expect anything. But if that doesn't happen he's going to get fired.

Actually last year he did some good moves, but our "coach" Was completely horrendous. I truly expect him to be aggressive this summer

I don't know a lot about stew but I do think that if we are able to procure Simmons for just CJ or CJ and picks... and we are able to get Norm to re-sign. We will have a roster that can make other teams pay for trapping and a really good defensive team. Those would be two exciting things to have on a Dame Lillard led team.

I think we should definitely try and trade CJ + picks for Simmons. The question is does Nurk want to stay? If not what's the right move? I don't think Indy will give us Myles Turner for Nurk and I'm not sure we want to rely on Zach Collins and I guess Simmons/RoCo as small ball 5's. I am pretty sure we could get Smart for Nurk, but we might be able to get Smart for a pick. Is there a stretch 5 we could get for Nurk?

    PG: Dame/Smart
    SG: Powell/Ant
    SF: Simmons/Little
PF: RoCo/Melo (I'd resign Melo to Vet Min and then use him correctly as instant offense and a Big Shot Bob kind of role)
    C: Zach Collins/RoCo/Simmons

That team is long, switchable and will absolutely annihilate teams that try and trap Dame.

I know there was a story written that was supposedly sourced that other teams were watching and interested in what we choose to do with Nurk. So for me I think we can cash Nurk in with one of those teams and get a fifth starter. I'm not sure that they need to start at C because I think Simmons can do that. I don't trust Zach to be healthy or think that he's ever really shown himself to be the caliber of player that would elevate our starting lineup. I would get a backup PG with the tax payer's MLE.

I think that main Nurk's problem is gone. Now I expect coach to turn CJ into ball movement machine.
I would be really surprised to see Norman sign a deal here after flying circus he saw here. I hope we can be professional team again, after some time.
    Dame deserves it.

If Norm walks, Neil should yet again be fired. If you think the best way to leverage CJ's talent is to have him passing the ball, I would have to disagree with you. Also, it's yet to be determined how Nurk will play under another coach but I can guarantee you that Stotts wasn't telling him to take low percentage shots in the paint instead of dunking it.

IMO, clearly, Nurk just wasn't happy under Stotts and thats how you behave in work, when you feel you deserve better. Stotts was all roses for Dame and CJ, yet he bashed Nurk. It was hard to watch this rotten culture of disfunctional family.
So, if Nurk can wake up and keep his head up, maybe he can show us how good he is. I hope.
As for CJ, I want him gone to Harlem Globetrotters, us they may be joining NBA. But till he is here, all I want from him is move the fuckin ball.

I get the CJ thing completely... let's move him but until he's moved he needs to check MeJ at the door. I do think you're right and Nurk was the one player that Stotts wasn't a player's coach with. We'll just have to see what happens going forward.

If Coach Billups does not guide this team to the playoffs, his stay will be short. He won't be a nine year coach like Stotts. I am not supporting Simmons as he chokes in the playoffs and that is not what this organization should settle with.

So the Blazers get Billups like most people wanted. But Dame is now gonna leave because like 5% don't like the hire?
    Seems like a fair trade.
