I found a new interview with him and posted it in the Dame trade thread...he's not going anywhere...it's a long interview but he's said he's in Portland unless he gets traded...doesn' t want to join as super team and feels he's already won at the highest level...life..

Not to nitpick but he said he won't leave here unless the team wants to trade him, which I took to mean that he's not asking for a trade. Basically the same thing we here from him every time he's asked the question. Thanks for posting that by the way, it was over an hour but it was a really great interview.

If they all hear from same source?

And why don't we hear all the negative shit about the men who were not hired?

Negative shit like what we have heard about Billups? Or negative stuff about Mark Jackson? Or Kidd? Or Pat Ewing? Or maybe Hammon is getting more attention because the golden child reputation has been removed? Interviewing for a high profile job unearths a lot of information, and Hammon hasn’t had to deal with or worry about it yet. Her reputation isn’t the same within the organization as it was - was - outside. And for good reason. And no, everyone is NOT hearing it from the same source.

Because half the population of Oregon isn't bitching about us not hiring MDA.

lol I remember I was pretty much accused of being sexist when I said the same things about her. I bet if she were a man the Spurs would’ve already shit canned him.

Why would the Blazers hire the Muscular Dystrophy Association?

Interesting how mutiple places in the national media are now starting to unearth some of the very things you gave us some heads up on.....and took a lot of grief for. Props for sharing.

Hammon is a devout Christian who refused to kneel for the national anthem and was very close to Kobe Bryant and his wife and daughters. She would have been a bad fit in a Portland culturally and in an objective world, been criticized for her relationship with an accused rapist who not only was arrested and arraigned for rape in Colorado, but also spent $2.5 million so his accuser would refuse to cooperate with the prosecution after he’d already been charged.

But, we don’t live in an objective world, we live in one rife with agendas and hypocrisy as was seen during the entire Billups hiring episode. Some of the same people criticizing Dame for being a “rape apologist” were Hammon’s biggest supporters. It doesn’t get much more hypocritical than that.

Signing Powell to the $20+ million a year he’ll get somewhere else and playing him 32 minutes a game at SF didn’t work last season, so why would anything be different next season? Dame is 6’2” tops, CJ and Norm are 6’3”. That’s a major liability on defense no matter how long Norm’s arms are and that can’t be fixed.

Norm is going to want to start at SG on a team so unless CJ is traded, let him walk because the experiment with him starting at SF didn’t work.

I’ll also point out that some people bashing Olshey for not improving the roster even though the season isn’t over want to sign Norm Powell to a contract that will cost at least $60 million in cap tax next year when it was proven last year that him playing major minutes with Dame and CJ doesn’t win against good teams.

you'll have to perform the math for me to show how signing Norm to a 20M/year contract will cost 60M in cap. Unless you're doing cumulative cap but that wouldn't make sense

I think people wanting Powell re-signed are almost exclusively thinking of him as the starting SG with CJ traded. Those that aren't are simply not wanting the Blazers to lose an asset

everywhere you turn and see a roadblock for Portland, either on the floor or in the ledger, the roadblock always seems to be CJ

“Whatever her responsibilities are with the Spurs”
NO ONE KNOWS WHAT SHE DOES But I’m sexist for not being in love with a candidate that I’ve got no clue how to judge her… ok

Can you name the responsibilities of assistant coaches of various NBA teams? I sure can't.
