I care and I don't buy any of that ...nor do I think Chauncey would ever consider tanking...it definitely matters to the guys who show up to play and the fans who buy tickets

That's not how the NBA works after trading the Franchise Player

Just want to say i HATE this thread for so many reasons but want to make clear not trying to call out anyone for posting in the thread but i just hate the fact this thread now exists for various reasons OUTSIDE of just can this team compete for a ring as a reason why Dame might get traded.

It's not a formula...we have enough talent that there's no need to tank at all...tanking is for the TWolves...that's how the TWolves work....not the Blazers...it's one reason I've always respected the Blazers...they stay in the mix...the Hawks sure didn't tank after firing their coach and making trades...they were a bottom feeder not long ago ...only a couple of teams will benefit from tanking and they don't have rich ownership like we do...I feel sorry for their fans..fact is we'd be competitive is CJ was our franchise guy ...not as good as Dame but CJ is no slouch as a number one scoring option.

Yup. If Dame goes, so does CJ, Nurk, Norm, etc.

    Total fresh start.

    IF traded…

Bam and Miami is the only deal you take.

    Jaylen Brown/Robert Williams/1st rounder
    For
    Dame

    Ben Simmons
    For
    CJ/1st rounder

    Nunn/Herro
    For
    S&T Powell

    Nunn/Simons
    Brown/Herro
    RoCo/Nas
    Simmons/Collins(?)
    Nurk/Williams

Flip RoCo for a younger piece at the deadline and you’re looking at resetting the timeline by about 6-7 years. Average age minus RoCo would be around 23-24

Because Dame/Tatum is at minimum an ECF team. Maybe take the first rounder out but there are trade rumors out there saying Dame or Beal could get Brown/Nesmith/2 1s

Dame basically said in the interview above that he's already won...he is happy chillin in Portland and why would he want to go to a super team just to win a ring now...what's the fun in that...he said if he goes out it's with his 8 cousins to Cabo and they chill there just like they do in Portland...he doesn't need the glitz and club life.....he's staying a Blazer unless the team want to move him

Chauncey wouldn't have taken this job if he thought Dame were leaving.

There is no Dame trade that doesn't logically end with us tanking and completely rebuilding.

I am a huge Bam fan. I would love to have him on the Blazers. But there are not many centers out there that are franchise players.
He dropped in the draft because his measurables were nothing special. ( 6'8 3/4 barefoot) Good wingspan at 7'2" (9' standing reach)
No doubt he is extremely athletic. But once his verticle leap diminishes he will be very average. And with our injury history with centers.....that could happen sooner than later. Again I love his game but not sure I would build around him. I would trade CJ for him but not Dame. But Miami needs Bam more than they need shooters.

Problem is that this is from 5 months ago. I really think his mind hasn't changed in such a short time, but who knows.

I'm just going on record and just once. This thread is an abomination. I get it, but never will I even have this in my head until I heard the words I want a trade straight out of Dame's mouth. I would NEVER trade him under any other circumstance, even if that meant we have to watch Dame become a Kobe Bryant style chucker on his last legs just trying to pad his stats at 40, I still keep him on. The man is a god damn legend.
