Basically, it's the same Foos who try to start shit about Dame in here. And it was the same in the previous site. They love to troll. I know this. No Blazer that i have ever watched, is as committed to his craft, and improving his game, on an every year basis as Dame. PERIOD! I Love This Man, and Everything he brings to rip city!
Agreed. Under no circumstances should we trade Dame right now. The only exception is if he asks out. And he's not going to do that.
C5Films can go fuck themselves for abjectly blind Laker stupidity yeah right, Shroeder, Kuzma, and a couple of Laker first round picks in 2026 and 2028 for Dame is a "great" deal for Portland. fucking idiot(s)
It's how the man is built...simple. All this other white noise is just bull...Dame isn't movin his dream or wanting the glamour...it's all there to hear..and this was just posted on youtube yesterday from my searches on Dame...by his friends...not Skip Bayless or Steohen A
I think CJ got enough potential to replace Dame on 1 and if we trade Dame for some other star we could be better. But not crybabies types, P.George or B.Simmons. I wouldn't even want LeBron at this point. Tatum, maybe.
CJ doesn't have "potential" any more...he's going to be 30 years old next season. He's in the he-is-what-he-is stage of his career. CJ has spent his career paired with a super-star in Dame and it didn't make a damn bit of difference. and, Dame will not be traded for a super-star. That's just loony homerism. Harden just got traded for Oladipo; Kawhi was traded for Derozan; Chirs Paul was traded for Rubio & Oubre; AD got traded for some young players and not a super-star in sight; PG13 was traded for young players twice, and Gallo. the best the Blazers could hope for is either a player at about CJ's level, maybe another bench player or 2; or some young players suited for a full rebuild (meaning CJ should be gone too). Plus a collection of shitty 1st round picks. That's the going rate for a super-star these days, and has just about always has been the going rate. OKC traded a super-star and they have been in the lottery since then. Same for New Orleans. And Houston. Spurs have been lottery bound since they traded Kawhi. Minny traded KG ans spent a decade in the lottery. Teams do not trade franchise players and get better the following season. what is most ridiculous is talking about giving up on the idea of building a contender around Dame because of Olshey's fucking incompetence, and then leaving Olshey in charge of making the trade. It's infuriating.
Most ridiculous idea after all this years is not splitting Dame - CJ duo, just because CJ got a vineyard here. As for CJ himself and his potential, I have my opinion and is just that: my opinion.
Wizard writer getting in on the "trade Dame" fun: https://www.nbaanalysis.net/2021/07...zers-washington-wizards-trade-damian-lillard/ It would mean sending Westbrick to Portland...
This dude says we don't have a choice but to trade Dame this offseason. Sorry, no. He's under contract and frankly I'm not on the "trade Dame because it's the honorable thing to do" band wagon. Nope. I still think Dame should own a large piece of the blame for the team staying the same for the past several years. Now, I'm fine with trading him to a contender if it makes sense for our team, but I'm not sending him to LA for trash. I'm not sending him to Miami for trash. Nope. Sorry. I hope we hold onto him until we get an offer that makes sense for this team long term. We bungled the LMA situation and we can't afford to do it with Dame. Either we build a contender around him, or we blow this sucker up.
These Arse Clowns around the country are nothing more than delusional fans looking to get something for nothing to forward their own personal agendas to get hyped and hopefully lead to money for breaking a story. But if they REALLY did their homework, they'd find that Dame is a different dude. He's not looking to cling onto some ones jock to win a trophy. He's an extreme alpha dog. He Leads. These media worms need to find another hole to search.
Your argument that CJ is what he is needs a caveat. He is what he has been allowed to be under Stotts. He’s never played for a coach who wouldn’t tolerate the black hole behavior or who demanded that he put in the same effort on the defensive end of the court that he does on the offensive end.
I don't think that team would be a contender. I think CJ can be the number one scoring option from the perimeter on a great team with a dominant post and a bunch of defensive stand outs. That does describe what he would be if he were traded for Ben Simmons. That trade would make the Sixers a lot better and I think it would do the same for us but is more of a gamble for us that has a potential higher payout.
sure....and if you've paid attention to my CJ "hate" over the years, you'd have noticed that my 2nd biggest complaint about CJ (his mesh with dame being my 1st), is that his assisted FG rate was about half of what it should be. That CJ is not nearly good enough in one-on-one and iso to warrant all the those type of opportunities he gets. That his game should be very similar to Klay Thompson's rather than similar to Dame's. He should never have been made into the 'dribble-crazy-iso-maniac' he has become. His dribbling, FGA's, and usage should all be dramatically reduced but even if that was corrected, and he became a much more catch-&-shoot-spot-up player he'll never be as good as Klay because he's 4 inches shorter and a defensive sieve. Yet, his salary is taking all the air out of any space to add that 2nd star that even Olshey was talking about in the PC. A better version of CJ, assuming there is really a better one, is still not enough for Portland to become a contender
