cool...I liked Hollhins but he's 67....I like seeing a younger lead assistant that can handle the grind

Its kinda funny how you can look back and see which names, such as Vinny Del Negro, are thrown into a group of candidates” purely as a favor lol. vinny probably wants to get back into coaching and Olshey did him a solid.

so now it’s Chauncey and Brooks…really like the start to this coaching staff.

This can only mean we're trading for Russell Westbrook.

It's also a genius way for Chauncey to protect himself from the accusation that all the X's and O's stuff is done by his assistants. Nobody's going to believe that if Brooks is his assistant.

Hollins could still join, billups still needs to fill out two more front assistant positions along with the back of the bench guys.

Brooks is a great get as an assistant. Idk why some fans seem to have a hard time separating a head coach with an assistant. There’s a reason why he’s had multiple head coaching jobs. Safe bet he’s a great assistant. Btw he was the first coach that implemented the hack a simmons strategy lol.

And blazer Twitter is on fire again because Brooklyn just signed vanterpool as an assistant right after we announced brooks

Blazer twitter seems to suffer from being incapable of hiring outside of the Portland universe. Ime, Dame and now David.

Maybe they should hire who is the best and not just base it on a Portland connection.

Although I'm sure people will find a way to connect Brooks to the Clippers and Olsheys time there.

Wait a second...Brooks coached the Thunder, and the Thunder used to play in Seattle...so clearly, the Blazers are moving to Seattle!!!

Brooks has been a shit head coach for years. Nothing to be thrilled about.

I'm not saying he can't be good as an assistant. But all I have to go off of is what he's done the past few years and he's done a poor job. Therefore, I'm not going to be thrilled about it.
Fair, I guess.

he's been an assistant with the Sonics, Kings and Nuggets...was Western Conf coach of the year and four years later coached the Western Conf all star team...he's far from a shit coach ..as a lead assistant for Chauncey he'll be great....no complaints....compared to Nate Tibbetts he's got a ton of experience...as someone mentioned, he held Westbrook accountable....only coach to do that...

I honestly think he's been shit the past few years. Might be great under Chauncey, might not. Just can't be thrilled given the job I think he's done recently.

But you were begging for Mike Brown, who in the one year he didn’t have a generational talent (Kobe/Lebron) won 30 games? Brooks took the bum wizards to the playoffs three times and even past the first round.
