I vote for Monty as our head coach and Billups as our no. 2. Before you say it, of course I realize this is a pipe dream.
I think we're most singing the same tune here. I do think a team could contend without good assistants, but also think they can add value.
Yeah he was on the all defense second team twice and was known as a great defending guard. He was also on one of the greatest defensive teams of all time. So this idea that he's an offensive coach is a little offensive. The guy is obviously going to be a two way head coach with assistants that specialize in different aspects of the game on both ends of the court.
Flipping through channels I had to do a double take when I saw Vinny Del Negro flash across my screen on NBC. Dude is playing golf on national TV: https://www.golfchannel.com/news/jo...ry-championship-annika-sorenstam-fourth-place The fuck? Did he really want to come back to coaching or was Neil just doing his guy a favor?
He probably hired a new agent that would actually get his name in the mix again...of course Neil knows Vinnie...Neil is a Mike Dunleavy disciple and Vinnie and he have that connection through the Clippers. I was more shocked when Jeff Van Gundy's name was thrown out there...he hasn't coached in decades either..
hahahahahhaha. And just so its clear, it’s not funny because she’s a woman, I’m sure she’s great, it’s funny because people were crying about sexism when they said nah to Hammon.
Edniesha Curry on Wikipedia. Got to say, I've seen better-written Wiki entries. Also got to say, nothing in this screams "NBA assistant coach candidate" - I sure hope this isn't partly a PR move as a sop to the people (like me) who wanted Becky Hammon.
