If CJ were to be traded, who are we most likely to get?

If they could make it Simmons for Siakam and Lowry, I agree. But just Simmons for Siakam is a downgrade for Philly.

I dunno. CJ and Wiggins are probably pretty close to equal talent/impact-wise, and if Duarte is as NBA-ready as everyone says, I think that deal could make a lot of sense for the Blazers, especially as the idea of dealing for Simmons and/or Siakam becomes increasingly unlikely.

Certainly not the home-run move we're all really hoping for, and we'd still need to sign a quality big in free agency (Olynyk?), but that could be a contending lineup if the pieces fit well, the new staff implemented an effective defensive scheme/emphasis, and the bench youngsters continue their progression.

    Dame/Ant
    Norm/Duarte
    Wiggins/Little
    RoCo/[Olynyk]
    Nurk/[Olynyk]

Wiggins has turned himself into a + defender as well as signed for 1 less season than CJ@$30million. he fills a position of need and improved his efficiency in GS shooting 38% on 3's.

Nah, unless they've got a move with Tobias Harris set up too. He doesn't work well at 3.

Morey'll come back to Neil..."Since you wouldn't offer us Dame, we're sending Simmons to Canada. But if you really do want to trade that CJ guy for a forward, I've got another one that might interest you..."

Or another PG. Maybe they feel Tyres Maxey is ready.

Good point. That is a lot of money in one position. I wonder if Morey is trying to unload the Harris Contract on Portland for CJ and Jones
    That is one horrible contract.

And what? We get Wiggins too, to make the money work? Sign me up.

Dame, Norm, Wiggins, RoCo, Nurk, #7, #14, Ant, Nas and DJ... that's a stacked team... definitely enough for Dame to feel like we're urgent about contending.

I don't think the Warriors would offer that because Wiggins is close to as good as CJ so to give us two lotto picks with him... not realistic but they couldn't make the cap work for just the picks.

The idea that the #7th and #14th will be rotational pieces on a contending team in a draft known to have a steep fall off after the 4th pick seems optimistic.

getting one of those picks right would be a homerun

This draft is deep... like really deep. 1-4 are supposed to be immediate starters and eventual superstars but the entire lottery are supposed to be solid. If the draft went right we could get Giddey and Kai Jones both of which have skills that would contribute to any team from the time they arrived. Again though this is all nonsense because CJ is worth nowhere close to Wiggins (who besides Dray is the only salary match possible for CJ), a mid lottery and a late lottery pick.

Then they'll be happy to keep him. And good luck to 'em.

I know you take RPM as gospel, but do you honestly believe CJ was the league's 4th-best 2 guard last year? Or more effective/impactful than Kawhi, Middleton, Butler, Tatum, et al?

If Wiggins is such a solid player, then explain to me how Golden State couldn't even make the playoffs? Is Klay Thompson really a league MVP candidate?
