The trade I actually want is for Sixers to give up trading Simmons (at least for now) but move him to 4 and add a shooter. I want Harris/Thybulle for Jones/CJ/next year's first rounder. I don't think the sixers would go for it but we'd be nice and balanced.

    Lillard/Simons
    Powell/Thybulle
    Covington/Thybulle
    Harris/Little
    Nurkic/MLE (Nerlens)

Still like this (despite Rasta's protestations). Factor in keeping DJJ, sign a vet min PG (Teague?), re-sign Giles and Zach on min deals...I think that's pretty decent.

I see this as the floor of what we should see this summer.

Siakam should be our target, don’t see much else out there. Would love to trade for Dragic as backup guard.

If Beal is available, it pushes CJ down the rankings in terms of best SG available. Philly or Toronto (and everyone else) would much rather have Beal.

Agree Beal is obviously better, I hate saying this but we need to made need to sweeten the pot maybe Simons or little included in deal. You have to swing for fences and if it fails you trade Dame at trade deadline (pains me to say that big Dame fan)

To me Dragic would be ideal vet to put with second unit. Not sure how we’d get him but would love to add vet like him to team

Beal is a better scorer, for sure, but I think CJ is actually a better point guard if he’s being asked to take that role. He seems to have a different mindset when Dame is out and he starts at the one. He put up 22, 7 and 5 in the game against Orlando when we first got Norm.

You're obviously right but I think that if Toronto wants Beal for Siakam or Philly wants him for Simmons both of those teams would have to send assets out in that trade, whereas CJ brings the same things as Beal but we would have to send the assets to the Sixers or Raptors if we were to get one of those players back.

So there actually is some value for us in Beal being on the market because he makes CJ a more attainable alternative. Also I just don't think that Toronto would want CJ or Beal... mostly this is about the Sixers.

I’m really not in love with Beal at all. I was watching him during the Olympic exhibition and he looked like shit.

    IF.
Also, I think the distance between Beal and CJ might not be that great. I don't believe RPM's ratings (see below) that CJ is THAT MUCH better than Beal, but I do believe that Beal is (a) even worse of a defender than CJ, and (b) cannot play PG at all. Trading Simmons for Beal would fuck up Philly's offense totally, unless they acquire a decent PG. See the difference having a decent PG made to Phoenix, whose SG Beal resembles much more than he does CJ. However, I am willing to grant that Beal has a much better rep around the league than CJ (deserved or not) and is younger.

Would the Clippers do PG and Zubac for CJ, Nurk and Jones if needed?

Then trade them both for another player.

Again, I don't understand this trade. Are people saying that the offer is Andrew Wiggins, #7 and #14? That seems insane to me. Wiggins almost has enough value on his own to get them CJ, then they add two lottery picks in a deep draft?

Beal is overrated. Inflated stats on a bad team. The weird thing about Beal is that he was drafted as a sniper, and for a while he was averaging 40% from three over multiple seasons.... but his last two years (when he has become a 30 ppg scorer) his 3P% has dropped significantly. Right around 35% both seasons. Meanwhile CJ shot over 40% from three last season. I think Beal is trending in the wrong direction. He averaged 7 more 2 point FGA per game than CJ, and he averaged about 5 more FTA per game. I'm just really not convinced that Beal is necessarily a better fit. If anything, it's a wash, or at worse it's a bad fit because he's not shooting threes anymore.

I agree; GS would never give those two picks plus Wiseman for CJ. I doubt that they are even interested in CJ at all.
