No way Powell resigns here if we blow it up.
    Nurk is probably gone too.
    7 + 14 + Wiseman and Wiggy for Dame is… absolute garbage
You trade Dame for guaranteed goods. And a LOT of picks. Not 7/14 in a relatively weak draft.

Im looking for at least 3 picks, 2 swaps, and 1-2 good young players if I trade Dame.
And frankly, I don’t see a single young stud on that roster with the possible exception of Jalen Suggs.

now if you could somehow land…
Suggs + Mobley that would be much more intriguing.

Seems like that must have been Siakam plus filler for CJ and Covington. Good news is that Olshey is interested in Siakam, bad news is Toronto wants a lot.

first of all, that guy was the one that kept tweeted totally obvious bullshit about Dame trades...so, he's got a history of bullshit

and that's certainly what it looks like with this latest tweet.

    * "make another run"...???....with what? That makes no sense at all

    * CJ & RoCo combine for 41.5M. So, the Raptors would have to send out over 36M in salary

    * The only big salary they'd have to reach that 36M is Siakam. Portland can't take Hood back by the draft so he's out.

    * so the deal would have to have been Siakam + one of Boucher/Baynes + #4 for CJ & RoCo. If Portland could have landed Siakam, Boucher, and the 4th pick for CJ & RoCo....and refused, then Olshey is beyond dumb

which pretty obviously means that tweet is total bullshit, just like the Dame tweets. Especially considering that Toronto has only about 97M in guaranteed contracts next season, including the 4th pick. They'd have no issue with re-signing Lowry if they wanted

    Agreed the tweet is bullshit.
However, in regards to hood, I think it is just reacquire during the same season. So once new league year started, we could get him back.
    But again, tweet is bullshit

well, I could have been too literal but the "Raptors trying to trade their pick" implied they weren't attaching a lot of conditions

my take is about 95% of all NBA tweets right now are bullshit. There are too many people building wild speculation off of vague hints by too few real sources. I'm sure all 30 NBA front offices have had recent conversations with at least 20 other front offices. The draft is almost here and conversations are common. But very few of those discussions will yield anything, while most seem to generate rumors

I'd have been tempted to build Olshey a statue if he pulled off a deal like that.

Does more need to go to Indy?

    Dame/Powell/Warren/Sabonis/Nurkic

I would roll with this starting lineup and see if Nurk/Sabas Jr can figure it out. If not, trade Nurk at the deadline for a spacing big or a switchable forward.

Does Dan Marang have any credibility? I just listened to his podcast on BE and he sounds very pessimistic
Said there is an offer on the table for Simmons that we can’t match and will keep him in the East

    No idea on his credibility.
But I think was mentioned here or elsewhere, I can see a Siakam for simmons deal making sense for both teams

Way too good for Indy. Not good enough for Portland or Philly.

Just to clarify; I took that tweet as talking about two different deals. One would be their pick for someone. Two would be the trade with Portland.

    Really?

I'm thinking Sabonis > CJ and Warren > Roco.

Everyone is so quick to trade RoCo and i will admit if it's to bring in a Top25 player then OK but he was one of the few players who showed fight in that disaster of a 1st round vs. the Nuggets plus he plays D something this team needs.

i don't think anyone WANTS to get rid of Roco. But we have very few tradeable contracts (10-20 mil) who aren't negative value.I'd rather trade Roco than Nurk if we want to make the $ work.

This is why I have been harping on Jones' decision to opt in/out is crucial for a lot of our summer trade hopes.

Yeah ideally I think we keep RoCo, the plan has to be using a combination of CJ/Simons/Nas/Picks to get a top 30 player, one who happens to be a Forward. I just don’t know if those assets are good enough.

    Trading RoCo would be crazy.
Not trading CJ for a top player would be crazy.

    Avoiding Crazy may be impossible.

I think Indy loses out in that deal as posted. Brogdon is better than CJ (to me), and Sabas is arguably as good as Simmons.
