Zion and Jonas together now, could be good front court.

I can't believe New Orleans got out of those Adams/Bledsoe deals that easily.

I never thought of Zion has a C, looked more like a power forward.

Great trade for the Pels. Getting great center, and out of contracts. Don't really get it for Memphis, other than, they will take a step back, to get better later. That is, if they luck out on those picks. Tillman had a nice year for the Griz. Will he move to starter, and they try to move Adams?

On second thought. I quite like it for both teams, subject to what NO uses their capspace on. Think Adams is better than Valanciunas on the Grizzlies as a more of a defensive minded center, so they move up 7 spots and get a future 1st for capspace that they wouldn't have really used on anyone else.

New Orleans almost has max capspace now. I hope they don't throw a huge offer at Powell if they lose out on Lowry.

Yeah, but isn't he over 50% 10-20 feet? That sill spaces the floor better than Adams. I am just glad he is out of Memphis. Although now N.O will be better

Disagree. Jonas is a much more talented offensive player than Adams.

sure i guess. i really don't think Valanciunas was the reason they did this deal. they simply wanted to get rid of $ to be players in FA.

As for his spacing prowess, 81% of his FG attempts last year came from <10 feet.

only if they renounce Josh Hart and Lonzo.

Replacing those two with Lowry seems like a lateral move to me. Ball really came on last year once he figured out how to shoot.

If, and its a big IF, the Pels can get Lowry, that will be great for them. Does put them as a potential payoff team next season, but not gonna guarantee it.

Yeah the Pelicans are shedding 21M for this upcoming season in this deal and then because Valanciunas is an expiring contract they eliminate 35M from the books next off season. NOLA has a really interesting off season because of Ball, who most think will be gone and Hart being RFAs.

Depends on what you think about Ball. If they're thinking about trying to make the playoffs in the next two seasons I would say Lowry > Lonzo. Guys like Hart can be found easily, they have other guards waiting in the wings already.

But I assume they QO Lonzo and Hart while they're negotiating with Lowry. If Lowry commits, they can just pull the QO. If Lowry chooses somewhere else, they can decide on Ball and Hart at that point.

So if CJ is part of a deal to bring back a frontcourt impact player, who do you like more. Simmons, (defense & playmaking), or Ingram ( fantastic offensive talent)? Wow! What a potential decision. Simmons makes the Blazers lineup incredible on defense, assuming Powell would re-sign. Nurk, Simmons, RoCo, Powell, and Dame. But Ingram's talent would allow for more easy baskets in the post. And an excellent mid range talent.

Despite this nonsense, I wouldn't be surprised to see Valanciunas traded again (he's too valuable and on too good of a deal to be bought out) and that would open up playing time for Hayes who with his thin frame, mobility, jumping ability and distance shooting is actually the perfect guy to play in the front court with Zion.

Well, Ingram is even younger than Simmons and has already shown a lot. All things being equal... which they wouldn't be because Ingram has much higher trade value right now... I would take Ingram. He has the tools to be not a great defender but a plus defender and is already an elite scorer at 23 years old.

I know right. Simmons would be great as well, but Nurk would have to take the next step offensively to provide more consistent low post scoring beside him. We shall see what ends up happening.
