Wonder when they'll all reconvene in Portland. I saw CJ posted pics of himself hiking the Columbia River Gorge with the trainers (didn't realize they were still with the team), but you'd figure the new assistants/Chauncey would start working out a summer plan with the players soon. Summer League is about 2 weeks away.
I didn't think it was. I was just surprised because I went to look for it and it's gone. Probably was getting a lot of hate comments on it.
he really wasn’t, I followed him lol. He also didn’t really post anything though. Hasn’t posted anything on twitter in over a year either.
Interviewed for a couple HC jobs; here’s an article about him. Seems like a player development guy. “Prior to that, Hetzel worked as a player development coach with the Detroit Pistons for four seasons. In that role, Hetzel was responsible for identifying individual strengths and weaknesses, then creating a progression plan and monitoring player growth during the season.” Learned from Clifford for quite a while so I assume he has some defensive chops. Or at least, I hope.
He was one of the hot coaching candidates ESPN highlighted last year. — Steve Hetzel- Orlando Praised for his work with Kemba Walker in Charlotte and this season with Markelle Fultz, Hetzel carried his reputation as a teacher and communicator into an interview for the Cleveland vacancy last summer. Having come up as a video coordinator, Hetzel has always had a knack for detail. In recent years, players and coaches have admired his ability to establish trust with players through sweatequity -- he tells them the unvarnished truth and furnishes them with information that will make them better. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...rospects-tyronn-lue-tom-thibodeau-chris-finch
weird, I think Billups and Brooks alone bring more credibility to the staff than I’ve seen since...idk...well before Stotts’ time. Billups will have every players respect from day one. That’s not an easy thing to accomplish, especially as a new coach. Players also love Brooks, shit he might be the only coach Westbrook ever truly respected. Rogers and Hetzel also have good reputations although I’m not as familiar with them.
