I remember when Blakeney was in college lighting it up. Nice offensive player.

    But another 6’3” guard

CJ is so bad. Not impressed. Not looking like he will earn actual NBA minutes right now

How exactly did Elleby disappoint you? He showed energy, hustle, defense, basketball IQ. He is what he is, i wonder what you were expecting?

So you better have Eleby than Blakeney?

I thought Elleby was fine. Played good defense. He's not supposed to be a point guard.

Interesting plus minus figures for the game. Blakeney was right at zero and Beasley and Faried, who didn't seem particularly effective were +19 and +20.

There's room for both. I like Elleby

Elleby was awful. Dude's jumper isn't better, didn't fix his form. Made some decisions that were insanely head-scratching. Doesn't get to the rim or handle the ball all that well.

One summer league game, but it's discouraging to see him show no improvement in any area.

I thought he played an unselfish game and read the floor well...his dish to Beasley was sweet...I missed the first qtr so if he stank that up I wouldn't know...looked like he was trying to play defense though

Our two acquisitions were the worst at -13 and -11

I thought Brown was decent for his first pro game. But let see how CJ plays through the summer league. King and Blankeney sure can shoot the ball.

I thought our Expendables looked expendable, but Blakeley looks like a keeper. He definitely had the no one can guard me vibe. He shot 9/10... while being guarded - not just open 3s.

I think you play him as one in SL to work on his game. Remember how they played KD as a SG in his rookie year and his advanced numbers were terrible. (No I am not comparing Elleby to KD, before some smartass claims that)

He always does this in summer league. He's C.J. McCollum, just passes 10x less, defends 10x worse, and is 10x less efficient. Check his stats in 2018-2019 for the Bulls... Dude was horrible. He's one of those score-first guards that always dominates summer league but is an inefficient chucker who thinks he has no teammates on the NBA level.

Blakeney potentially has a role, even with that whole robbery issue in his past.

Elleby looks like a role player. Blakeney looked like a guy who's a star in SL who won't get to be a star in the regular season. So yes, it makes sense to prefer Elleby because he knows he's supposed to hustle and fill in the gaps.

Tell you a guy from another SL team that REALLY intrigues me - Trent Forrest of Utah. He was a 2-way player for them last year but they picked up TWO of Baylor's guards in the draft. I know sometimes players on one team's SL team get signed by a different NBA team halfway through Summer League - I would be very happy if that happened with Forrest.

Don't watch the Houston SL team if you don't want to feel bad about our team.
