The patterns change all the time. Few months ago, California was the viral hellhole and it was masked and locked down harder. Now Israel, which has been a leader in vaccinated seems to be bad now. That pattern may follow here in a few months

    Pages 19-21, and 24.

OHSU certainly has the capability to do the genomic sequencing, if you meant OHSU specifically by 'they'.

Why would that be important to do?

Ok, I'll bite. What is a 'scientific exemption', and how does it differ from a religious exemption?

Well, the obvious solution is to acquire more beds. There are leftover cardboard beds from the Olympic village that Tokyo would probably let us have, and the MyPillow guy can provide the pillows.

Let's not pretend this is some sort of a crisis!

Wait... So California masked and locked down then things got better?

Interesting... Perhaps this relationship should be investigated further...

This article provides absolutely nothing, except to say that it is ‘possible’ to test for variants. It doesn’t say that they are actually testing the general population for the delta variant (because they aren’t). It only alludes to India, where supposedly “a good chunk” of tests were subjected to the sequencing measures required to isolate the variant. No data, no numbers, no nothing. Just “a good chunk”. Wow, sounds sciencey. Oregonlive is dogshit.
Because it would prove the exact point I was making, that none of the tests people are taking are being screened to isolate any variants. They are just being given the same tests they’ve been using since before any variants were touted, and being given covid +/- results. So all the assertions attributing all the new cases to delta are completely unfounded.

So @jonnyboy doesn't believe the Delta variant is real? Or it's real but it's fake that it's everywhere? Or it may be real but we don't test for it so it might not be real?

You mean it got worse after they opened back up too soon, right?

    It actually did...
“we are sequencing a good chunk of all positive cases across the country,” said Joseph Fauver

No, they locked everyone in and closed restaurants. Everyone just gathered at home and spread that way.

Only that nearly every single test that’s been administered hasn’t even been the kind that isolates variants. Are you able to produce any numbers showing the exact percentage of new cases that are delta, as proven by genome sequencing tests? Do you have that number?
Or how about a local hospital, clinic or testing facility that offers a free test that isolates for delta? I’m sure people aren’t running out to get genome sequencing done on the regular.

“Good chunk” isn’t a number. That’s the type of loose terminology a used car salesman specializes in.

That's a pretty easy google search.

And you're always about 2 weeks behind on the stuff you get from facebook.

    Anyway...

Then why did they start opening back up? They were having basketball tournaments in California before we were in Oregon.

Do you really not get what I’m saying or are you trying to skate around it to avoid answering?

I’m not denying they can test for variants. Read that sentence again.

How many of the current positive tests that contribute to current positive covid cases have been tested specifically for the delta variant??? Give me a number, and don’t say “a good chunk”.
