Not all of it, but I’m pretty sure they have around 5M left to offer.

unless there is a CBA loophole around the non-guaranteed 3rd year, Portland's TPMLE has dropped from 5.7M to 4.8M

actually, it probably shows more what they think of Elleby. Barton, Crabbe, Layman, and Trent all got fully guaranteed 3 year rookie deals. Elleby and Brown got 2, but a team option for Brown

or, more likely, Elleby's deal was only 2 years because Olshey wanted to have the full-MLE last fall to throw at Jones

Congrats to Brown! So far I like what I see of him on the floor.

Seems like we acquired both new guys on the basis of their high school careers

Crabbe maybe, but I didn't see any entry in Portland's transaction list for picking up an option on Trent

it doesn't matter anyway, because it seems pretty clear the reason Elleby only got a 2 year deal is because the Blazers 'needed' the full-MLE last off-season. They didn't have that need this time around when they gave Brown the non-guaranteed 3rd year

If no veteran big worth it was taking Portland's Tax-MLE, good to have Brown for 2-3 years settled with good money for a 2nd rounder. It's a nice option.

That’s a lottery big he packed. I’ve been consistently impressed with what he can do defensively. He made numerous great plays tonight that don’t even show up in the box score. He was never gonna have huge stats in the summer league anyway as it’s not a great set up for role players/non ball handlers.

His main focus should be tightening up his outside shot because if he can knock those down somewhat consistently he’s gonna get on the court; his ceiling is that high defensively.

What? The dude won’t see the court this season…… not an NBA court at least. What are you talking about?

Assume nothing. We have no idea how Billups plans to manage the roster. For all we know, he believes in periodically giving developing players relevant minutes.

Good point. But planning on this kid helping us succeed this season, let alone even hit the court is no different than expecting the 65 wins......only setting yourself up for a letdown.

Yeah, expect a more attainable number like 59 or 60 wins.

Until another big is signed, it seems like there are at least 8 minutes a game for him to fight and claw for.

The calls for him to get some rotation minutes will come early and often... you know it!

It’s funny, Moses Brown for example couldn’t even get on the roster, nevermind the court. Goes to OKC, gets a chance to play, and actually shows he can produce in the league. Must’ve lost that memo from Stotts (and some other old close minded people) that a guy can’t play NBA basketball until his third year.

Hopefully Billups is a little open minded, or at least doesn’t jerk a young player around if he actually does play well. Few things were more annoying last season than the way Stotts treated Nas.

Well, let's be fair here, Moses Brown had a bunch of cast-offs to complete for time with in OKC. Their center rotation also included Muscala and Tony Bradley. Frankly, if I changed my name to "late first round pick" I could potentially play on that team.

In Portland he was behind Nurkic, ZCo, Skal and Whiteside for Center minutes and even with the injuries, expecting much time for him there is misplaced, imho, especially as a 1st year player.
