Sorry if this has already been brought up, but has it ever been discussed in here Danny Ainge potentially replacing Olshey as PTB GM? I read that Ainge had recently visited Portland and such.

Eeeewwww. Just eeeewwwww. Ainge is so freaking overrated it’s beyond bizarre. All those years of stacking assets and he got one championship out of how many years at the helm in one of the most prestigious jobs in the NBA? And he got that ring because his good buddy (Kevin McHale) sold out the team that he was working for basically just to do Ainge a solid. And then Ainge showed little loyalty to the players who put that ring on his finger. Ainge did as much if not more running in place than Olshey. Same shit, different guy. Time for Danny to fade off into the Utah sunset……..

    I totally agree.

As an aside, I've never really liked him (even as a Blazer) way back since he was that cocky little QB @ North Eugene High. I think he beat my Lakeridge team, not certain.

Gotta bring this thread back. If CJ isnt traded for someone decent by the end of this season (and really should be before training camp), then I feel Olshey is in contention for one of the most enraging GM’s of my lifetime. Bring Whtisett out of retirement. Hell make Wizenheimer or Blazerkor or a full 25% of the board the GM. Anyone is less infuriating than Olshey. This guys ego is so swollen we should be concerned about him dislodging asteroids from the asteroid belt with its sheer gravity.

...when is he going to hold the off-season presser to pat himself on the back for all his "brilliant" and "urgent" moves he made since the playoffs?! :dunno:

I'm not an Oshley fan, but I think he's probably done about as good as he can with the management restraints placed on him. Overall, I grade him a C- as a GM.

A C- for a fucking decade should get the dude shown the door. We need to be looking for an A level GM.

Yeah, good luck. "A" GM's are few and far apart. Add to it, we're a location free agents don't want to come to and management have a lot of restraints. Why would a top GM want to be here and work under all that? It's not like we just snap our fingers and A-list GM's come beating our door down. Get real.

First, we need new management dedicated to winning. Then we need a new GM.

I'm not sure what you mean by new "management" and then a new GM. Neil is the top basketball executive in the organization, so the only change above him could be Jody selling the team. I wouldn't call that a management change.

People are still "enraged"? CJ will be on the team opening night. Just accept it.

Psst...don't tell anyone, but I'm actually kind of looking forward to it. CJ is looking ripped these days, has publicly acknowledged that he needs a stronger emphasis on playing defense, and has worked extensively on his three point shot. I'm looking forward to seeing if those changes yield dividends on the court.

CJ is obviously a very smart guy. That just make it more upsetting when he does something selfish or lazy on the court. I suspect Stotts didn't help the situation, but you can't blame him for everything. CJ just doesn't have Dame's hunger to keep improving.

I can see Chauncey moving into the front office one day like Stevens did once his system is in play and I can see Dame buying the franchise when he's ready to retire...so long as we're speculating

I can't see Dame having the money. Even if he has a few years making $50 million. Once he pays taxes, expenses, savings, he wouldn't make much of a dent in the billions needed. Years from now the value to buy maybe $5-10 billion per team.
