I'm not convinced that we get anyone of significance. It will be someone who is a client of an agent for whom Olshey owes a favor.

Keep in mind the player signed here will be moved at the deadline when he inevitably will try to get under the tax again.

Like it's not a coincidence that Olshey gave Watford the two-way (shares agent with Powell), or brought in Blakeney for the SL team (shares agent with Jones Jr. who really helped him out by opting in), etc etc.

He was out of shape for sure. He would have to get in better shape before i would want him.
The thing is he can do it. He was not at all prepared to be asked to go to the Olympics because so many opted out. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here i do understand that.

How depressing. Which washed up person should sit and the end of our bench? That’s where we’re now at :(

It’s the end of the bench? We are talking about a guy who is a Champion and could actually contribute at some point.
    Why would that be depressing?

There is literally no reason to not do a one year deal at $5M for Millsap. All reports are that he's looking for a deal above the vet min, and hasn't found one.

He's a good vet presence that can play 4/5, and he's a salary filler to use mid-season. Unless you care about Jody's pocketbook this is a no-brainer.

The 14th spot better be an all-star wing.

Can we put Olshey on the buyout market?

    Yep. They can.
They can ask him to leave and give him the money they owe him. They can even give him some extra just to leave quickly.
They can look to another option and pay that option as much as they want.

Why they have not at this point? I have no clue?

Should they have by now? That is debatable?

Really curious to see if the DJJ/LNJ deal is the "domino" that leads to a 14th spot signing.

Instead of starting a new thread I’ll just put it here.

Short of an injury to Chriss or Smith, team will carry 15 players. Change my mind.

Isn't the minimum roster size 13?

The Blazers are just barely over the luxury tax so maybe we just see 13 players in case they can sneak under the tax by February.

A trade such as Ant or Nas for a minimum salary player and a pick could potentially get us under the tax.

Neil has always gone into seasons with a spot open for flexibility. And given the tax implications, it doesn't seem necessary to carry 15 vs 14.

team is in the tax whether they carry 14 or 15 players. Flexibility also isn’t an issue with as many expirings/minimums they have. It also isn’t true that Olshey always goes into the season with an open spot. Had a full roster as recently as 18/19
