I believe this came from a rape allegation that proved to be false.

Fans were lamenting Kanter's defensive deficiencies all season. And snickering at Zeller as our backup C says more about the scoffer than it does about his ability to ably fill that role.

And Utah lost 4 straight as the #1 seed, to a team missing their best player the last 2 games of that series, in no small part because the Clippers went small and made Utah struggle with Gobert out there chasing around Batum and the likes.
Gobert had a DRTG of 115, and then 97 in their two wins. Then the Clippers went small, and he posted a 137, 129, 130, and then closed out the series with a 146!
He had 2 total blocks in those last 4 games.

118, 134, 128, 110, 129, 136 are the DRTGs for CJ in our Denver series. When our defense sucked, and he sucked. And yet the DPOY, the anchor of their defense had 2 games worse than anything CJ put up ratings wise. We can blame it on his teammates, but he anchors that D and makes it go. But he got gameplanned for, and effectively removed from the game, even if he was still actually playing. In the clinching game, he was a -24 in a game they lost by 12, and he played in 42 minutes!

You can't compare Enes Kanter to a three time all star, two time all defensive team and one time all nba third team guy who is 25... it's just the weakest comparison. Kanter is always living on the edge of a guy who is unplayable or a specialist role player... he's been that his entire career.

What are you talking about? The "can't play Kanter" moniker never existed prior to the 2021 playoffs.

First of all, that is a ridiculous comparison, come on.

Second, if Simmons were 100% fine mentally and didn't have to work through his issues, he would have top 10 value in the league for trades and unavailable to us. No one is saying Simmons is the end all be all to put our team into immediate contention. We are simply saying he's a guy who has a ridiculously high ceiling if things work out, and given our middling situation right now, we should be taking that minimal risk to see if he can work out.

So imagine we get to the playoffs, Simmons gets game planned out and we lose in round 2. How is that any worse than where we are now? I really don't see any downsides. Does anyone (maybe outside of Olshey) think this roster as constructed can do much better?

I don't know what red writing means but I overstated. Enes is a very flawed specialist that could start at times but not consistently and was being compared to an all nba player... that's still about as bad of a comparison as can be made.

Who do the Knicks have that fit the Sixers and their need to win now?

It’s amazing that they didn’t win when they had Simmons/Butler/Harris/Embiid.

In the end Philly’s GM is gonna want a stockpile of picks. Toss in Kemba Walker with 3 first round picks and 3 second round picks and it becomes a haul for Philly. Come trade deadline, now Philly has much more to offer to acquire Dame or Beal…

I don't know if Randle is as good of a fit as CJ but if they could get him they probably would. I don't think the Knicks would do it after the season Randle just had. That would also be moving Harris back to SF defensively where he struggles due to lateral mobility issues. I still think CJ is the better option for the Sixers but Randle is a win now player.

Morey needs to lay off the crack pipe. He's NEVER getting Dame. Ever.

I guess if people think that Morey is going to kick the can and hope for Beal or Dame at the trade deadline then a bunch of weird trades could happen. I just think they'll make the move that makes sense to win from the first day of the season but I definitely could be wrong.

Well while agreeing with me you allowed me the opportunity to make a fool of myself. That's a nice skill you've got there.

Would not be being traded. Philly would be in love with him. His coach would never want him gone. Portland would only be dreaming of the chance to get him.

I will say that if the Knicks were interested in Randle for Simmons, I'd rather have Randle in Portland. A CJ/Randle/Simmons 3-way would be fantastic.

I see everybody missed the point.

By saying we should ignore the Atlanta series for Simmons we are holding him to a LOWER standard than a bench guy. How does that make sense?
