    JR Smith is a champion too. Not trading CJ for him. The liked pic means Dame would be happy playing with Simmons. Why else would he like it?

    Please make sense when you talk and don't make me respond to silliness....

    We all know that team does not win the championship without Draymond... Plus no Durant??

    So? He averaged 14 for the season. 11.9 for the playoffs. 9.8 vs Atlanta...

    He's trending down when it matters MOST...

    Then how does he score 42 in a game? As for playoffs, when Embiid missed a playoff game in 2019, Simmons led Sixers to victory scoring 31 points on 11/13 shooting. What did your eyes tell you about that? In 2020, Simmons missed playoffs and Sixers got swept. You’re not looking at big picture. People in this thread are trying to explain it to you, but you’re refusing to understand it. Simmons is a MUCH better scorer than Green and just as good defensively.

    Simmons is a much better scorer than Nurk. And a better passer.

    You're absolutely correct across the board, everything you say here is spot on. Period. The only question I previously had was would Dame be OK with trading CJ and playing with Simmons. His Twitter picture like of Simmons next to him in a Blazers Uni, in my eyes, cleared up the latter 100%. It also hints he is ok with the former (trading CJ). I am pretty sure Dame decided he was done with CJ after the death stare he gave him when CJ stepped out of bounds in Game 5. Dame is ready to win now and he knows that Simmons opens that up. People want to talk about bad attitudes and a bad series like that's all there is. Attitudes can be crafted by environments. I'm not sure I'd want Ben as the Alpha, but he seems fantastic as the second option next to the Greatest Leader in sports. If we didn't have Dame I might be worried, but we do, so I'm not.

    it was a bad playoffs but he’s shown he can be great in playoffs too and he’s YOUNG. So much potential. If he was a perfect player, we couldn’t get him for CJ. To get a star, we have to take a risk on the guy who has shown flaws. We’re not getting Giannis for CJ.

    Simmons is stud I expect some flaws or he wouldn’t be available. Again you add him to our defense and we instantly become top 5 defensive team. Top 5 defensive team with a top 5 offensive player who can hit big shots I like our chances. Then you just need one of our your younger players or Simmons to take the next step and your competing for top spot in west.

    Guys, come on this isn't even worth discussing. It's from a month ago when Dumas was circulating this nonsense. Dumas is the only source. Just yesterday Ben's people said that he would play for any of 29 teams, just not the Sixers. That's pretty damn definitive and it's not a month old. So lets not do this again. It's bullshit. Dumas, rightfully so, thought that we have the pieces that would make the most sense going out in return for Simmons... us and Toronto but he wanted the Warriors to be the lead story so he'd have more to talk and write about. So he made something up (he's a Cali socialite so the Blazers and Raptors wouldn't interest him). This shit is played out. @Duckhook literally get some new material.

    Interesting....so the front office thinks that Dame wouldn't know how to play with a high usage, ball dominant guy.

    Oh wait....

    Obviously this accidental slip up of info coming out of the usually tight lipped Blazers FO couldn't be a negotiation tactic. Olshey is trying to get Simmons for CJ straight up right now and Morey is pushing for other pieces. If the rumor was that the Blazers were committed to Nurk but Ben and Nurk have some redundancy offensively, then I could see it but this is straight up public negotiation.

    Their redundancy is very small.

    Fine here’s something a little more timely. I’m not writing this shit. Simmons isn’t coming to Portland and I honestly don’t get why we would want to bring this prima donna anywhere near our team’s culture.

    Here's the most up to date info. Who cares if a guy has a preference of California? He's played ball in Philly, just north of Orlando and Louisiana. The only place he didn't choose was Philly and he's been there for 5 seasons without a peep. Hardly a prima donna. Just read the story below.

    Last season,

    * Simmons had a usage rate of 20%; CJ had a usage rate of 27%

    * Simmons averaged 15 FGA/100 possessions; CJ averaged 27 FGA per 100/possessions

    * Simmons had 82 touches a game with 4.24 sec/touch; CJ had 65.1 touches a game with 4.79 sec/touch

    * Simmons averaged 3.24 dribbles/touch; CJ averaged 4.30 dribbles/touch

    that means, on average CJ had the ball in his hands for 312 sec/game and dribbled 280 times. Meanwhile Simmons had the ball in his hands 347 seconds a game and dribbled 266 times.

    so this overblown worry about fit and taking the ball out of Dame's hands comes down to 35 seconds a game....LOL. Just maybe Billups can find a scheme that can limit the damage that 35 seconds will do to Dame's production

    not only that, while CJ is pounding the air out of the ball, Simmons is finding passing lanes. That's why his career assist rate is 34.5% while CJ's is 17.5%

    maybe Simmons wouldn't work out well in Portland. There is some reason for concern. But the last 6 years have pretty much proven that the Dame/CJ team has little chance of magically becoming a contender. It's entirely possible that Dame/Simmons could get the Blazers closer than they've been since Dame arrived
