We disagree on if Nance, Boucher and Simmons would be a good front court but I agree that without a bigger space eater, Boucher isn't the best guy to play the 5. That's why I think Toronto would do it.

Most centers he can defend but why waste him guarding centers? He’s a shut down defender you play him on best player which is almost always a guard or sf. Few exceptions AD and Jokic

Totally with you on that... I was just saying he's capable. I'd also play him on Embiid when we play the Sixers both because it's the right match up and because it's great drama.

Embiid would hurt him. He's a freak of nature. Nurk has done well up against him.

He’s a PF who handles the ball a ton and can bring the ball up, initiate the offense etc. Not center. I am curious why some think he’d be a great pick n roll/pop guy with Lillard. I feel like as a defender you pretty much know exactly what to give up with Ben - a shot. Like anything outside ten feet you leave him alone.

And? I didn’t see any pick and rolls in the first few mins. Second, highlight videos don’t do it for me. You could make an amazing highlight video of CJ. Like Hall of Fame worthy

Yep defense will collapse and it would be 5 on 4. They will have to respect his size and ability to pass though. He is not Aminu.

Personally, I would wait it out and play part of the season and see where Anfernee and Little are at. There have been enough changes that I’m fine running it back. If CJ has a similar start to the season like last year and we could shed the picks requirement, I do the straight up deal.
If we had him though, I’m starting Dame/Powell/Covington/Simmons/Nurkic. Then I’d sub in Anfernee for Powell and Nance for Nurkic with 4-5 minutes left in Q1. When Dame isn’t in game, a lineup I want to see is Simmons/Simons/Powell/Little/Nance where Simmons plays PG. If Little takes a leap in his consistency from 3, the defense and ability to shoot of this lineup could wear other benches out.
I would also consider keeping Nurk to see the fit with Simmons before I look at a Boucher. If Nurk fits, great. If not, Nurk and a combination of an improved Little/Simons/all of our picks after 2022 could land another big name. But the first domino would have to be Simmons and I don’t see any harm in waiting it out until Phili is desperate. Outside of maybe Haliburton and maybe Brodgon, I don’t see anyone available to be excited about if it’s not CJ.

Aminu also can't create a shot for himself, or others, to save his life. There is not a single GM in the history of the NBA that would take Aminu over Ben Simmons.

The fact that Billups would have the option to play him at 5 different positions is an argument for why we would want to trade for him. Especially since we'd be trading him for a guy who plays 1.5 positions on offense and 0.5 positions on defense.
