We will soon find out just what they can get for a guy that needs a new situation.

Agree that the CJ trade made more sense (a) when it was for Harris, and (b) before they traded for Curry.
Also agree that it's time to let it die. Pretty ironic coming from the King of Simmons Threads, I know. But it's not like anything else was happening...

Well that narrows the field (but notice what team's logo is missing)

Olshey will go for broke because he has to. McCollum + 2 future first-round picks.

With Harris and Curry they were lacking a playmaking perimeter scorer last season, especially in the playoffs... that's what hurt them and that's what they need right now. I have no idea why we would "let it die" until Simmons is traded.

Right, until Simmons is traded or another option becomes available this is the only game in town if the goal is to improve in a serious way and keep Dame.

do people still think Olshey has any intention of trading CJ?

I'd be surprised if Olshey has budged an inch from when he was holding CJ untouchable 4 years ago

Man! The belittling of CJ's talent is wild. Who knows how good he would he be . I was as frustrated as anyone with his performance in last years playoff series. But he is a highly skilled , upper echelon , offensive talent, who before the injury to the Lumox, was performing like never before on defense. His anticipation was great in the passing lanes. He was forcing opposing players into bad shots. He's very capable. If he's not traded i foresee him improving greatly on defense under Billips. I think he would be great next to Embiid. I would love to see him in the John Havlicek role on this team , but i doubt that happens. But if he gets traded for Simmons, it's not a slam dunk that we get the better of the deal. I hope Ben Simmons is everything and more , cause i want Dame to win it all for us. But i'm not gonna slam on CJ like he's some third rate talent, and that's the way it's coming off in here. That is total B.S.

I count 18 teams. Timberwolves, Jazz, Nuggets, Pelicans, Magic, Grizzlies, Pistons, Bulls, Raptors, Spurs, Wizards, & Hornets are missing.

Nah, I think if CJ wasn't playing with Dame, he'd look fantastic. The fact is they are an extremely small and not extremely athletic back court defensively and both guys thrive with the ball in their hands. I think CJ would be great as the perimeter offensive specialist/lead guard on a team with Embiid and Harris. I think that if Simmons would change his mindset from PG to being a big like a Dray/Giannis hybrid, his success when paired with Dame would be a slam dunk... with a lot of slam dunks. On defense plugging Simmons into a forward spot and letting Norm play the 2 would be huge for our team. So, no CJ slander. Just time for him to QB his own offense, he'd be great at doing it.

He sure sounded like he'd moved away from CJ being that second star on a contender at the presser when Stotts' firing was announced but Olshey has had a lot of time to talk himself back into it sense then. We'll have to wait and see.

I do think that the idea that this team will somehow be good enough to contend and therefore good enough for Dame with the addition of Nance and then the rest of the bench guys we got is not realistic. Running back the three guard lineup and rest of the starters doesn't seem like the way we keep Dame... at least not to me. So, yeah maybe CJ is still untouchable and also yeah maybe this time next year we don't have Dame.

Maybe I'm totally wrong and the growth of Ant and Nas with the additions of Nance, Snell, Zeller and the rest will make us a contender.

Yes they need a player like CJ. But they have new problems once Simmons is gone. Esp on D. Simmons missed 202o playoffs and Sixers got swept in first round.

If Seth were to come off the bench in an instant offense role, they could start CJ, Thybulle, Green, Harris and Embiid. That would be a pretty stout defense and a much more potent offense.

Good point. I think some Sixers fans see Curry in a bigger role though. After the playoffs last year, they consider Curry to be their 2nd best player.

Just think how good a passer, slasher, defender, dunker you have to be to make the NBA (and become an All Star) without being able to shoot! That's what the naysayers don't see. He is super elite in those aforementioned skills.

This reminds me of when the NBA Store opened in NYC and they had a black leather jacket with all the team logos on it. I wanted it to so bad. It was like $5000.
