Seems our border is a bit out of control. Im a sticker on good management regardless of what it is, Company, Family, Pets, kids, finances & Gov. Seems that many administrations just dont care about any kind of immigration reform or immigration enforcement. Im pro pro immigration with realistic policy but Im not for out of control borders. I have family & friends in AZ & TX that are pro immigration but not with whats happening now with respect to out of control border crossings.
Administration after administration struggles with this. I don't know what the answer is. The President has the duty to ensure the safety of our citizens and a path is created for citizenship while the are properly vetted. Immigrants can work prior to being a citizen. But we just end up with serious problems. I know President Trump set up an agreement with Mexico for the immigrants to work while awaiting vetting, but I heard they lived in such filth that it was untenable. Just letting anyone and everyone walk thru the borders unchecked isn't the answer. So it's a tough one.
agree but no one seems to admit that its out of control for fear of being labeled. My relatives and friends in Tucson are democrats that are pro immigration but think its way out of control and having negative impacts.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/16/us/texas-migrants-del-rio.html This is the kind of thing we see on the southern border, though not usually to this extent. It's fascinating how the border gets covered and when the MSM decides to care and not care. I'm not sure it's an issue that will ever be solved but it has to be handled better than this.
In the latest chapter of this FUBAR situation ... all BP agents around the South Texas border have been ordered to deal with the shit show that is happening in Del Rio, meaning there is no one manning the checkpoints on the interstates or highways. Bascially a free for all for any of the illegal activities to cross unabated into the country. Laredo has the biggest inland port in the country with I35 being a main artery to the rest of the USA. Better believe those cartels on this already and massive amounts of drugs and humans have been smuggled in just the few hours this has been the situation.
I’ve never met a single democrat who just says “let them all in who cares”, which Is what the right likes to say. To me, healthcare is a very complex issue. The border doesn’t have to be. Like at all. If we spent a years worth of our military budget on the southern border and immigration we’d be all set. But no. Bombs and tanks
Red Herrings make ratings/get people excited about shit. We (the US) should fix our own problems first. Like, the insane amount of homeless in Oregon.
It's easy to solve a problem. A)Find the cause. B)Then find why you had to find it (since the media hasn't made this knowledge widespread). Immigrants immigrate to 1)escape the bad legal/economic systems there, and 2)make more money here. Okay, we did A). Was that hard? Now why isn't the media focussed on what it would take to fix the other countries' problems, so that their citizens would want to stay put? Because the U.S. quietly causes those 2 problems, on purpose, to stabilize its own power, and maximize profits made from exploiting those countries. B)It's an open secret, but mainly unreported, to hold power. Is this too hard for you? It is for writers in the controlled media.
As a rule, sure. I have however broken laws throughout my life, some got away with, some I didn't. Even the law of gravity and ohms law a few times. I do respect the need for order and governance in a civil way to protect people from themselves.
Haitian Migrant Crisis Exposes Dems, GOP Hypocrisy. Biden kept Trump era border policies. He is every bit as responsible for this mess as Trump is.
“People Are Desperate”: Biden Vows Mass Deportations as 1000's of Haitian Refugees Shelter in Del Rio. If you watch this video and aren't sickened by what our own U.S. government is doing. You are most likely no longer human.
Who thinks it’s fine? No one. I’m not sure what we do when thousands of Haitians show up at the border. This is nothing new. There’s no way to quickly get people across the border, legally checked out, and on their way. What do we do? Just let them all through and give them a coupon for a meal? This isn’t Biden. This is a broken system. They need to figure out Haiti and Mexico and Guatemala and so on so people don’t leave in such huge numbers. They need to build massive shelters and staff them and get people processed within a week or two.
The border has always been a mess. The last best chance we had at any type of immigration reform was during the GW Bush administration. The political will was there, but Bush refused to take it up because of strong pressure from his rich ranching and farming buddies. They needed cheap labor and reform would have killed (or at least reduced the profit margin) of the golden goose. And now we have what we have. To blame it all on Biden is pure stupidity. Maybe it wouldn’t have been quite as bad if the former guy hadn’t gummed up the works and increased the backlog exponentially…….but the problem in one form or another has existed for decades at a minimum.
Past Presidents and congress are all to blame for the lack of control at the border. No administration for decades has taken reform seriously and congress has not done their job. What ever happened to bipartisan efforts to address critical issues in our Country.
It doesn't even have to be tough. Get their identity, fingerprints, DNA, photo, tattoos. Give them a pending immigration ID and some food stamps and let them start working. Deport the ones who cause trouble and everyone legit will enter legally. Then you can be sure everyone who is sneaking in is illegal, and they'll be easy to spot, catch and deport or jail. Then you can set about solving the problems in their countries.
Texas is like the Houston Rockets. They are spending tons of money on a Wall that is past it's prime.
