I am not a man and don't lie with man. So I guess I'm fine. If you don't like abortion, don't get one. If you think a movie is smut, don't go see it. If you don't like gay people getting married, don't come to our weddings.
There's also II Timothy 3:16-17 to consider. I believe the Old Testament's purpose, including its vile and sinful acts, etc., is to inform and lead us to the need for a Savior, Jesus Christ.
I believe she had a 13-year same-sex relationship and raised 2 children (biologically her own, FWIW.) I also believe she's now hetero-sexual and doesn't condone that lifestyle any longer. I believe that God created marriages to be a man and a woman. I also believe that people make their own choices. If two people of the same sex decide to have a relationship together, raise kids, etc., then that's their prerogative. If their state recognizes their marriage (if they do marry), then so be it. Me agreeing, or not agreeing, with those facts, really has no bearing one way or another. Does it?
My question: why don’t you like gay marriage? Just a reason. Just the Bible? Do you believe every single thing in the Bible?
I think you worry too much about labeling people. Your sister was in a relationship with someone she loved, loved enough to raise a family with. Now she is in a different relationship with someone else she loves, loves enough to raise a family with. You don't see these as being the same which I find odd. And according to your prerogative, one of these relationships should not be considered equal under god or the law. Which again I find odd.
I think we can all agree that your opinion should not matter. The problem that some of us have is that due to quirks in the US system, although your opinions are definitely in the minority, they still get encoded into law, despite the intended separation of church and state. barfo
Read the room. You aren't witty, and in most cases you are so uninformed that you don't even qualify for a charitable placement.
I don’t tolerate them, I just don’t belittle people for having asinine thoughts on it. I often recall the song “Jesus loves the little children, ALL the children of the world”. If he loves everyone, why shouldn’t I try to do the same?
@ABM a few questions... You believe that gay people should not get married in the church. Are there other sacraments they should not be allowed to participate in? Baptism? Communion? Confession? Last Rites?
When things are clearly wrong and hurtful to other humans I have zero tolerance. None. There is too MUCH tolerance if you ask me. Antifa, Proud Boys, anti gay, anti black, anti women, fuck alllll those people and society should have no tolerance for them. Period. But as long as people can be fake Christians and use the Bible as their shield for their shitty behavior, they’ll always be around.
The funny thing is that if you read the Woes of the Pharisees as described by Jesus and you compare the current religious nuts... you realize that these people that call themselves believers in Jesus are the Pharisees of today. Item #4 is especially telling: They taught the law, but did not practice some of the most important parts of the law – justice, mercy, faithfulness to God. They obeyed the minutiae of the law such as tithing spices, but not the weightier matters of the law The days of reckoning are coming...
“Tolerance” of certain groups of people isn’t tolerance. It’s coddling and giving permission. THEY need to show tolerance to people who have no control over who they are and just want to live their lives. We don’t need to show tolerance for people in the wrong.
Calling their thoughts asinine (extremely stupid or foolish) is belittling them, which FWIW is fine with me. It's very hard not to belittle some opinions.
In the beginning Denny created Ripcity2. And the forum was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And Denny saw the forum, that it was good: and Denny divided the main forum from the darkness. And Denny called it the main forum. and the darkness he called OT.
