They don’t sound professional. They sound like the kind of people I see captured on video saying and doing stupid shit. “They’ve turned into a bunch of antifa” yeah ok dude. Good luck with that new security job at MODA.

Are they talking about the Lounge Lizard or "really good stuff"?

I haven't been the Lounge Lizard, but I have been too "really good stuff" and that place was a dump and a fire waiting to happen.

Oregon Live and the Washington Examiner don't count as credible news sources.

do you live on here? Im on here a lot and don't even come close to being able to read all comments in all the threads.
    Yet every.
    Single.
    Time.
I go to a post i was alerted on and someone is countering something i have said, there you are with a like.

you may call it coincidence. I consider it stalker like tendencies. The pattern is too obvious.

    Every
    Single
    Time.

notice i don't give a shit what you say until you have directly engaged with me?

but you are fixated with any conversation im in, as you are always there to post a like or pig pile on the comments.

    It cant be healthy.

It doesn't bother me. Im just pointing out my observation of your behavior and hope you get better. If you want to continue to deny it, thats your right. Exercise it! Like you have been.

Honestly, I drive so little these days, that when I do, it takes me about 10-15 minutes to realize that I’m driving like shit (well, not like shit, but not as well as I did when driving regularly and on freeways). I’m not even thinking about the police.

    Agreed.

If we really wanted to solve the speeding problem (is it really a problem?) we could easily install cameras to ticket everyone exceeding 10 or 15 miles over the limit.

I should add, I’d be a worse driver if not for my 2021 Outback and all the safety features/warnings/alerts. Can’t get away with anything without an alarm going off.

    No. Just no.

I can’t afford this. I don’t even want to know how many more cam tickets my wife would receive.

Holy crapola, I was just making an observation not saying anything about your point.
For crying out loud let it go and let's get on to something productive.

Funny, my wife has only two tickets in 50 years of driving, while in the same period I probably have 20 or 30.

I've posted this before but it seems like it could be helpful here. The "Defunding the Police" started in Camden, New Jersey.

Defunding the police is not cutting their budget, it's rebuilding a police force for the ground up. Budget cuts happen all the time. The Portland Police have had their budget cut in certain areas but still had their overall budgets increased. See the mounted horse patrol as an example. That program was cut from the budget but the overall budget was increased. So cutting a program(s) or a department is not defunding the police.

Anyway, here is a really good interview/conversation between the state Attorney General and the Police Chief who originally "defunded" and then rebuilt the Camden police department.

    https://cafe.com/stay-tuned/the-camden-policing-model-with-anne-milgram-scott-thomson/

Now in posting this I am not advocating defunding the Portland Police. I'm just providing real-world information on what exactly defunding the police is, why it happened in one major city and the problems and successes that came with it. It really is worth listening to because I think it will help all of us in this thread of having a concern about how law enforcement operates and how we can make it better.

It's not a long interview/conversation but it's worth listening to.

"In this special episode of Stay Tuned, “The Camden Policing Model,” former New Jersey Attorney General and CAFE Insider co-host Anne Milgram interviews former Camden, NJ Police Chief Scott Thomson, whose reimagining of law enforcement in Camden has become a national model for police reform. Anne and Chief Thomson discuss their extensive collaboration in implementing Camden’s reforms, the challenges of state-level political ecosystems, and the lessons that they take as we work to re-envision policing across the country."

I had a ticket from one of the vans Beaverton had out and about when I first got my license (back in the days when if someone other than the owner was driving, they'd then send the actual driver a warning). My record is spotless.

Been pulled over by the police three times, all three of which were utter bullshit and I was harassed. I'm certainly fine with fewer traffic cops on the roadways.
