Yes. We should get rid of subsidies on unhealthy food which makes them cheaper than healthy food.

However, this is not relevant to the current discussion or a pandemic. Nobody infects somebody else with obesity by eating too many big macs or doritos.

Hospitals are not overwhelmed with obese patients. They are overwhelmed with unvaccinated covid-19 patients.

If we had a vaccine for obesity which was as effective, safe, and simple as the covid-19 vaccines I'd also be advocating for people prone to obesity take the obesity vaccine.

agreed 100%. Thats why I'm put off by people who make light of other things when they are also brought up.

This is not a black and white world. Its complex. With many cultures and many different lifestyles and beliefs.
So when someone continually speaks condescendingly to anyone else regarding what is rational and irrational about that persons’ fears of whatever, i see it as mindbogglingly arrogant and narrow minded.

Phat, hospitals are full of people that are not healthy. I'm not sure if I talk to 12 yo, but try to imagine, that there is actual connection between your life style and your health and your immune system.

Covid takes old and sick people first. It is not like you can take vax and go to McDonalds strait after and you'll be fine.
It is not even two different things to compare.

It doesn't (to my knowledge) take old and sick vaccinated people before it takes unvaccinated healthy people.

What most people in the hospital right now have in common is that they are unvaccinated.

The easiest and fastest way to solve that problem is to get as many people vaccinated as possible.

While being healthy is incredibly important and something we should always be working toward, we will not help this pandemic one bit by advocated for long term lifestyle changes.

So it is just a distraction in this thread about the pandemic. That is why it is dismissed in this thread.

If you want to make a thread about health and fitness I'm sure people who check that thread out will be more excited about discussing it.

An obvious point is that our hospitals have enough capability to handle the normally unhealthy people. They don't have enough capacity for the extra pandemic sick people.

There are social efforts to improve people's general health that are happening at the same time however.

    Kareem discussing the Wiggins’ situation:

"As I’ve asked before, what specific right is he fighting for? The right to do whatever you want with your body doesn’t exist in pretty much any civilized society because we recognize that those who behave recklessly and irresponsibly can harm others. You do own your body—unless a deadly virus turns that body into a plague delivery system that can kill hundreds of thousands. Today, while Andrew Wiggins was gathering his generational wealth, 2,036 people died of COVID-19 and 71,905 new cases were confirmed. Of these deaths and new cases, 97 percent of them were unvaccinated. Tomorrow and the day after and the day after, more will die and others will face long-term health problems. He could help prevent that. He chose to use his body not to."

Figured I’d quote a Laker on the subject for HCP.

Serious question. Has anyone found any info or study on bow covid might live in or on plant life?

i ask because I'm having symptoms come back fairly extensively. Lips and tongue have steadily increased in numbness the last few days. Moderate congestion has crept back up. Headaches are back and fatigue is setting in after just taking the garbage out to the street.

my thought is i think my smoke supplier spread the covid to me and how he did was by hanging in my studio for a little bit and using my smoker device. He is unvaxxed has has never had a covid test. But has told me he has had some “head colds” this year.

So my studio used to be a grow room the previous owner built. Completely sealed off Nd to me, is like an incubator of sorts.

is it possible that he spread it through the actual plant and its lingering on it in my studio?

the symptoms creeping back up are coinciding with me spending more time in the studio again.

Its been almost six weeks since he was there but based on what the room was built for and the bag of smoke in there that he supplied that ikeep digging into, im wondering if there isn't any potential correlation.

I of course cleaned the smoking device and wiped everything down the moment i tested positive. But was it too soon and the smoke is actually carrying that the room is incubating for a longer life?

From what i know that would happen with a bacterial whatever but not a virus?

    Talk to your doctor.

    ASAP.

General information and advice from a message board is fine but this is your health.

You might have bronchitis or walking pneumonia. You could have a lot of things. You could have nothing. But you really need to talk to your doctor in person.

They send me a daily covid diary where i document how i feel and answer questions.
I called in a couple days ago and they said ive already tested positive and to come in if the symptoms get so bad, I'm not able to function normally.
I dont have any cough or lung issues. No fever.

Based on my phone call with providence, they dont have an answer other than to come in if it gets too bad.
They wont let me test again. I don't know if I'm still contagious.

Do you have the ability to email your doctor?

Can you just make an appointment?

    Have you ever?

Truth be told i don't have designated doctor. I lost him a few years back when my company made a change to our insurance and my doctor was no longer an option with the new plan. I haven't set up a new one.

My doctor and my mother told me I'm a perfectly functionally normal lad.

If you liked and trusted your previous doctor then you should strongly consider just paying out of pocket to see him. It sucks to have to pay out of pocket but this is your health we're talking about. Make sure you ask for a cash discount. Then ask him if there is a doctor he recommends that is covered under your current health insurance.

Men are weird, we grew up in the "walk it off and you'll be fine" generation. We don't push ourselves to get the healthcare we need but if this was your wife you would be telling her to do pretty much what I'm telling you.

Please take care of yourself, we need you as the bad guy of the forum.

If you're worried, at minimal, go to a COVID test. Be it at a pharmacy or the at-home test kits (takes 15 minutes).

You can get BinaxNow tests at Walmart and Walgreens. I'd get in to see a doctor ASAP, regardless of test results.

not sure you're in any position to talk about logic with some of these comparisons you're making, tbh.

This is just flat out false.

    https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/ruso.12404

Multi-variate regression analysis found that political views were the most important variable explaining per capita COVID-19 cases, while measures of disadvantage were the best predictors of COVID-19 deaths. Counties with high proportions of Trump voters had higher per capita cases, and in nonmetro areas, these counties had higher death rates.

What do you think the Trump/Biden map looks like?
