You heard me correctly. The Westbrook trade was good for them. Dinwiddie/Beal is MUCH better than Westbrook/Beal. They also added KCP and Montrezl Harrell. Lots of other good young players ready to develop. Will see if Kuzma gives them anything. Wizards roster is MUCH better constructed than the Lakers.

The 2014 Spurs team was a "TEAM" team. Kawhi didn't carry that Spurs team. He won MVP because someone had to. He destroyed the Spurs locker room in 2017-18. Then he went to Raptors and carried them to a title. Simmons is not Kawhi but he can do things Kawhi can't and he is a much better player than anyone on our roster other than Dame. Make the deal.

Ummmm they have been openly shopping him for a year. So he's just saying "get on with it." I don't hold that against him. Why give any effort for a team that doesn't want to?

This is not true. They tried to trade him to Houston a year ago and he hadn't requested that.

In my initial post, I wasn't comparing THEM. I was comparing people's feelings about them. People thought Kawhi was a head case and a lockerroom problem in 2018 just like they do now with Simmons. The only way to get a superstar traded to Portland is to pick up a flawed player when his value is low enough to obtain. That's what we have in Simmons right now.

Yes, they did. They've openly shopped him for an entire year. They've left him in utter limbo for far too long.

Simmons hasn't done anything to be called a selfish ingrate child. That's ridiculous.

Which is WHY I BROUGHT UP KAWHI. Kawhi was just like this. He was holding out on his team all season long even though they had a roster to contend and his teammates were begging him to play through an injury they themselves had had. People were VERY critical of Kawhi back then.

Simmons hasn't pissed his career away. He led his team to the East's best record last season and he hasn't even missed a game yet this season.

So is it okay to call Kawhi a douche bag too? He behaved worse back in 2018. Good thing we didn't trade for him, right?

Got it. Call a man you don't know a "selfish ingrate child" and now call me dumb. I know how you operate now. Thanks.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I don't think Morey will relent on getting a lot for Simmons. Blowing a Simmons trade (which means trading him for pennies on the dollar) means becoming irrelevant. Morey, I believe, would prefer to be fired than do a deal that he believes takes his team out of contention. And I sincerely doubt Morey is on the hot seat or will be soon.

I don't think Simmons will relent on his "hold in" any time soon, but I think eventually it'll become untenable financially.

I'd be really happy to get Simmons on the Blazers without having to give up Lillard (and I wouldn't deal Lillard for Simmons, obviously). I personally don't think Simmons is a bad guy, I think he's someone who feels that, at his toughest professional moment, was turned on by his franchise--instead of standing with him against irate fans, they basically fed the flames of fan hatred. I don't blame him for wanting nothing to do with the franchise after that, and I don't think that's unprofessional or childish. I think that's how relationships work--betray someone and they drop you.

I know what we learned through the media from his teammates. And I didn't call him a douche bag. I was asking if Kawhi should be called a douche bag since he was acting similar to Simmons.

Why would Simmons want the 6ers to get more value in a trade and his new team lose assets to win?

But he really wasn’t, outside of asking for a trade. Everything was kept private. He didn’t openly disrespect his teammates (if anything his teammates, specifically Parker, disrespected him) he didn’t disrespect his coach, he didn’t get kicked out of practice. Oh, and he’s a top 5 player. We can pretend like everyone gets treated the same, but they don’t. He could get away with a lot more than Simmons if he wanted to.

It’s professional sports, he signed a contract, Simmons only cares about getting out at all cost right now. if the Sixers are going to insist on holding on to him for a better trade, he is better off playing and playing well so he gets out of there faster
