Well, when they're the main reason the other team is outscoring us, it's not going to be pretty on the scoreboard.

Man, I can’t believe COVID even got the Melo thread.

Realistically there is little to no chance to catch up to it.

Way to go everyone who had to talk about COVID!!

Then again he did join the Lak*rs…

Start at page 1. This might be the second best thread in the history of S2. You should have to read this one and the FAMS thread just to be able to join this place in my opinion. You won’t be disappointed!

    …..just say’n

    C A R M E L O has 8 at the half - including two 3’s

Who’s gonna be our “Instant Offense” off the bench this season?

    Snell? McLemore? Simons? Blevins?

Total Blazer +/- is literally lockstep 5x the Blazer +/- on the scoreboard.

You don't need an "instant offense" player off the bench to win championships. Who was it for Milwaukee? Pat C? Not really. You just need a tight rotation of 7 or 8 who can defend and make good decisions on offense. Who provided the champion Warriors "instant offense" off the bench? Livingston or Iguodala? Not really. Better players like Zeller and Nance will improve the minutes when they are on the floor over those with Melo. The last time we went to the playoffs without Melo, we made the WCF.

And because we didn’t have “instant offense” off our bench we were killed in those WCF games. I disagree, you need scoring off your bench. Tonight GS beat the Lakers with scoring off the bench.

We don’t have scoring off this dismal bench. We won’t even make the playoffs with this current roster.

Yup. I don’t know about not making the playoffs but the bench cannot score. Simons is to mentally soft imo to be the scorer Blazers think he is.. Other than him whose our microwave guy that can help scoring off the bench?

We didn't lose to the Warriors because of our bench. The starters got run off the floor at the end of games. Yes, you need scoring off the bench. But you don't need an "instant offense" player like Melo or Jamal Crawford or Lou Williams (all of whom have never been to the NBA Finals) who can't play defense. You need a versatile bench. Yes, the Warriors won tonight. But the team with Carmelo lost. We won't miss him this year.
