    this looks like total speculation, and lazy as hell speculation at that. One brain doing remedial math. If you want to speculate, knowing how the Vulcans operate, cast a wide net of potential GM candidates, than look for those that have any Seattle connections

    ok.....but doesn't it look like the only equation here is: Ainge is out of work and he's from Oregon + Portland is in Oregon = Ainge is a candidate

    I don't think Seattle is in any hurry to resolve this mess. And if they do get rid of Olshey, I doubt they'd be in any rush to hire a new GM. I'd bet interim on an GM till the off-season

    I really hope not. As noted earlier, I think they've done some more leg work on potential replacements than has been made public. Keep coming back to Barry.

    Ainge chose to be out of work...he didn't lose his job...Boston still pays him as a consultant....he said he wanted to retire....that's not exactly fear of unemployment by any stretch..I think the Ainge deal is some journalist trying to fill in the gap in the non story

    I have to disagree. If they just quietly fire him and he gets another NBA job, the Blazers will get blamed for any misconduct at his new job.

    A legit reason to do the investigation is to see what's wrong with the culture, who else contributed, and provide assurance to additional parties this will be independently fixed. This could be bigger than just keeping or firing Neil.

    I dont think Ainge would be a good choice as GM, but he would be an excellent part time advisor for the GM and Jody, basically as Jerry West was in Mem and GS.
