All I can say is thank God we don’t have to watch MElo ball hogging any more.

This thread is where I come to celebrate MElo wandering off to seemingly greener pastures.

Lead the comeback. He actually played well with good energy. We watched this last year as well at the beginning of the year. Then injuries happened and they asked too much of him and played him to many minutes along side Kanter.
Melo still has enough in the tank to play 10-15 mins a game. I don't think anyone disputes that. I wonder how he will look after 30 games? He came into this season in great shape again.

Anybody have the latest Melo stats for the season? I remember people just KILLING him when he let how washed up and useless he was. Just curious how his season is going? Hoping he is playing well.

Clue: His team has a worse record than our slow out of the gate Blazers

I’ll take Nance coming off the bench over Carmelo any day. Sure, Carmelo can score. But that’s about it. He’s not a willing passer and down right awful at defense.

I didn’t think we traded Nance for Melo. I too love the addition of Nance. I thought we traded DJJ for him?

Melo wasn't traded, he took the Lakers call right away after Stotts was fired....I like Melo. He is a good 6 man but pairing him with Kanter was like spotting points to the other team....you put iin between Nas and Larry Nance and you can hide his defense..he's a decent rebounder and underrated passer. According to Melo.....Neil never even called him in the offseason...Wes said the same thing when he got hurt...Neil never called him either. I guess it's common to let guys walk but someone like Melo should get at least a call from the organization. That baffles me.

Not saying I wanted Melo back, but not even getting a call from him is bush league.

Of course he wasn’t traded. He was comparing his play with our team to an incoming player we traded for. They aren’t the 2 players that should be compared. Whoever we sent out for Nance is who the comparison should be.

why, just because we traded someone for someone else?

    nance plays melos position.
So if we traded cj for jokic and traded nurk for simmons, jokic should be compared to nurk and cj to ben simmons shouldn't they?

Its not 1-1 its the fit.
Better example. If we traded simins and a bunch of picks to minni for KAT and we let nurk walk. Do you compare kats production to simons? Or to nurk?

Not sure im following your logic of it having to be a straight comparison.
And im pretty sure the team wouldn't look at it like that either.

I never mentioned anything about trading those two players for each other. It was a series of moves that upgraded our bench.

Getting rid of Melo was the smartest thing we could’ve done. He’s a one trick pony and it doesn’t look like he’s found out how to keep his opponent in check in LA either.

I’d say give it 30 games before we judge. Just like our Blazers. Thats what I’m doing.
