On the latest Jacked Ramseys podcast someone asks what the numbers are for a Dame/Norm/Nas/RoCo/Nurk lineup.

There were small sample sizes, but the production that came up with a line up of Dame/Norm/?/?/Nurk was RIDICULOUSLY effective on both offense and defense. Of course they were small sample sizes, but they were all 90th+ percentile up to 100th percentile in multiple categories.

Would seem to invite further investigation.

Any takers? I know some of you would rather get Grant, but according to Pistons fans he's a black hole and if we're trading CJ we want ball-movers.

Nah, I don't think you'd trade away KAT if all you were getting was CJ and Nurkic.

But it's no crime to want Towns on the Blazers. So you just keep mocking up trades to get him here!

No player will admit it, but probably everyone besides Dame hates to play with MeJ. Everyone who plays in a team sport would hate to play alongside him

I think he should just be sent to Cleveland for Love and a first rounder. We can try to package the first rounder with Roco (and maybe one of ours) for something decent.

Does someone have you in shackles forcing you to watch CJ dribble drives?

Can we package cj and future picks to get the number two pick aNd go after Banchero from Duke?

call this season a wash, go for the lottery

    Dame/smith jr.
    Powell/Ant
    Little/ roco
    Banchero/Nance jr
    Nurk/Zeller/ Nance jr

likely require a three team deal to find a team to absorb cj’s contract.

Plus a core of ant/little and Banchero for the future would be a good starting base.

Not bad if Banchero turns out to be or better than expected.

nobody giving a high lottery pick for CJ i believe. Those teams are not win now mode. Not that CJ would make them win now of course, but he has no value for them.

i would assume we would be trading cj, our lottery pick and whatever futures to get that pick.
Thats why i said it would likely need to be a three team deal.

This is a good one. Hornets wouldn't want CJ as i believe Rozier is better or at least similar kind of value player. But maybe they would prefer to save some money and get a more defensive oriented guy by moving Hayward for Grant.
For Pistons to do that i guess they would need a couple 2nd rounders or some young talent.

That you should say that shows how far CJ has fallen in our estimation. I think casual fans would see the Pistons getting the "star" in the trade. Admittedly it's kind of a stretch to see why the Pistons would do it, as CJ's a full decade older than the Pistons' new foundational player, but maybe they could think of it as trading up, like the kid who started with a paperclip and ended with a house.

I think in our minds CJ had far higher value than his actual value all those years. I m pretty sure nobody (non blazers fans) ever considered him as a near all star player and in here i ve read a lot about how he is close to getting there. Obviously not the last two seasons, but before that. He has a very particular skillset that not many teams needs for the value of 30M per year.

CJ has had way outsized opportunity compared to his talent. I'm not sure there has been a less talented player who has anywhere near the FGA that CJ has had over the last several years

for example, last season, CJ averaged more FGA's/game than Julius Randle, Lebron, Brandon Ingram, Giannis, Jokic, Trae Young, Paul George, Embiid, KAT, Kawhi, Durant, Harden, Khris Middleton, Ja Morant, Sabonis and Jimmy Butler. For chrissakes, he averaged nearly 5 more shots/game than Butler. Dame only averaged 1 more shot than CJ. That's all kind of ridiculous

this season, CJ is averaging 7 more shots a game than Powell. But, CJ is averaging 1.10 points/shot while Powell is averaging 1.45. If those situation were reversed, Portland would be averaging 2.38 more points a game. Right now, Portland's net differential is only 0.6 points.
