When they first let it known Neil was under investigation I said we'd never hear from him again through the Blazers microphones and that's one I got right for once.....time to plant a new garden and replace the soil....Casey and Brooke were showing high praise for Joe Cronin as the interim before Neil got fired...I think Neil going away won't dent whatever is in the works right now heading into the trade deadline...Cronin has been in charge of scouting for a long time now.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/theund...r-marc-eversley-makes-history-in-chicago/amp/ Sounds like Eversly is tight with Masai Ujuri who endorsed him for the Bulls. I think my power rankings are in for an edit. Lol
im just happy no one outside of mannix is mentioning ainge. what has everley done? he hasn't been with CHI very long. does he get credit for DeMar/Caurso?
This is such a huge position to fill at such a critical time. I hate that the Vulcans will be filling it...
Sounds to me like Jody and Bert decided to eat Neil's payout instead of try to drag it out without a strong enough case to void the contract....Neil must have gotten his money
he was fired for cause-- literally mentioned in the press release from the team. that indicates that they did this to actually get out of paying Olshey. where are you seeing this?
Chad Buchanan was interim GM who in one day, fired Nate McMillan, dumped Marcus Camby, and traded Gerald Wallace for Mehmet Okur and the pick they used on Dame
I'm not...I'm speculating...maybe they did find something...I hadn't read that part other than he was unable to play well with others....I'm not sure that cost him his payout though...we'll find out I'm sure...Neil also could have cut a deal and taken a partial payout

I don't have a problem with him....Nas, Greg Brown, Ant....I think we've got some raw talent through the draft....
Tin foil hat theory: they dragged it out because they were looking for a way to keep Denial Olshit, and then had to go into reverse when Dame finally issued a "him or me" ultimatum.
Olshey et al largely been competent at finding value in the later portions of the draft. 24 - Simons 25- Little 31- Crabbe 37- Trent Jr. 40- Barton 41- Connaughton 47- Layman the only real miss in this range was Swanigan, and maybe Elleby. If you just use these late picks getting second contracts as a metric, it's a near 100% hit rate. the Collins pick in the lottery was a disaster (and i'll maintain that as Olshey's biggest mistake in a decade), but our draft record has been great by most NBA teams' standards during Neil's tenure.
This is great news. Super pumped. I imagine we won't see any major changes though until the permanent GM comes in. They would want to give them a chance to put their stamp on the team. Also..... next up is getting rid of this ownership.
