With 4th graders it might be helpful to call them out in front of their parents for lack of pride and effort, but I don't think it is productive with grown men.

So treat the grown men with kid gloves, and the kids like men.

How about treating kids and grown men with respect? It's extremely rare that a team "doesn't care" and "has no heart," but that's generally the go-to for any fanbase of a losing team--because it doesn't feel good to blast people for not being good enough, it feels much better to blast people for moral failings.

I agree, but isn’t that pretty much what Chauncey has been saying about his starters lately?

Given some of the effort (or lag thereof) and production by RoCo who seems to be completely checked out, and CJ who mostly seems interested in making sure he gets the most shots up of anyone on the floor no matter how poorly he is shooting or how hot a teammate may be.......Chauncey seems correct to say what he is saying.

Here’s a hot take, Nas getting injured robbed us of our second best player. Or at least most consistent.

Some of the Blazers are currently playing like kids who were forced to try out for the team by an overbearing dad and are deliberately trying to get cut.

Maybe they're just playing badly, as opposed to playing maliciously or with no interest? It's not like CJ has ever moderated his shots by how well he's shooting--he typifies the shooter's mentality (which is laudable in Steph Curry, not so much in less accomplished players) of having a short memory and never lacking confidence that the next one is going in. That's generally the mentality you want in your starting shooting guard, CJ just happens not to be good enough.

Certainly provides the most energy and is one of the 2 best perimeter defenders (along with Norm). Best finisher on the break, and very good rebounder for minutes played.

OK, OK, maybe I was thinking of highschoolers! Billups methods probably not effective at any age. And I like Billups and his changes. I just think he needs some help here from coach Brooks, coach Rogers and Lillard.

And I'm not advocating "kid gloves". Is anything tougher than telling a guy privately if he doesn't play with more intensity within the next three games he will lose minutes or his place in the rotation?

This is becoming a chicken v egg situation. It would be simple to say the injuries are causing the deterioration. Then again, when the team is having a rough streak it is easier for players to convince themselves to milk injuries.

And yes, I do have a very cynical view of human nature.

That pissed me off so much in this game. Nurk should have received the ball in the low post on every single possession Enes was guarding him. WTF

If you honestly believe this, I want to change my win prediction from 41 wins to 21!
