saw numerous possessions last night where we saw all the good stuff. This isn’t a case of a guy losing his ability. He’s just not locked in mentally with any sort of consistency. He’s probably the guy I’ve seen out of position the most, which is ridiculous considering who he is.

Well if they've watched him he's no longer 3 and no longer D.

His steal and block percentages are in line with his career percentages, and he was over 36% (which is his career avg) from three before yesterday’s game.

His defense is completely shot. He has the footspeed of a center. He was never good man to man but now he's like Melo. He stood up PG once last game, great. PG also waltzed right past him for a dunk that sealed the game (while RoCo looked behind at his teammates for not helping him). If they can get anything of value for him they absolutely should.

    We’re the promoting Greek players?

If so I think you and @Rastapopoulos have a case

Now Zach Lowe has a podcast. Says Philly has no interest in CJ.

Damn man, the dude has had the job for less than a week and he's already supposed to have pulled off the deal of the century. There is no reason to think that the rest of the FO was in lockstep with Neil's assessment of CJ. There are also a lot of reasons including the meeting that Cronin, Chauncey and Dame had, to think that Cronin will not stand pat with a team visibly struggling on the court and with a sub .500 record.

Interim person is usually someone within the organization. Not necessarily nefarious.

Pelton makes an interesting point regarding us:

The trade that has shaped our franchise for the last 10 years happened when we were at a crossroads with our team. We came off a few years of playoff runs, had a star. And traded pieces around the star for what ended up being Damian Lillard. Could we get lucky again?

Not sure there's any more Billy King's left in the league, unfortunately.

    Quick:

What does this mean for McCollum?
Jason Quick, Blazers Beat Writer: Neither McCollum nor the Blazers know the extent of the injury yet — there are still more tests to do in the coming days — but the early indications are this will not be a long-term injury.

Does a long-term injury force the Blazers to consider a rebuild sooner?
Quick: It's too early to tell: One, the team is hopeful this isn't a long-term injury. And second, the team is not anxious to unload McCollum because they value him as a player and a person. The circumstances around the Blazers — the president resigning, the general manager fired, and the rough start under new coach Chauncey Billups — has certainly created an unsteady future, but a source said a course has yet to be determined for the franchise. If there are two words that can sum up the Blazers' future: Stay tuned.

I don’t believe this. Quick was fed this for leverage in a CJ trade.

I just don’t think blatant lack of effort and competitiveness by professional athletes deserves coddling, or being concerned with their feelings about being called out. Grow up. Do your job that you are paid ungodly amounts for. This is part of their problem. Bunch of non competitive guys lacking pride.

I don't think CJ will be moved until the offseason. I think RoCo and Nurk are gone.

CJ looks horrible? He’s averaging 20 ppg on 40% 3 pt shooting. That’s like 2x the 3p% of Lillard this year. Wtf are you Lillard cultists talking about?

He has the lowest TS% since his rookie season. He has a good 3pt% but his 2pt% is in the toilet, his free throws attempted have decreased as well as his ft%. He is also posting the worst DBPM of his career meaning his defense is worse than ever. The fact that Lillard is bad doesn't mean anything for CJ. He is horrible.

The great thing about advanced statistics is you can always find a stat to cherry pick to support your stupid argument with confirmation bias.

his defense is worse than ever? Have you even watched a single game this year? His defense has been great. He is getting a block and a steal basically every game and has made huge improvements in 1v1 defense. But go ahead and blame him for Lillard’s failures, as usual.

Maybe you should learn to appreciate players like CJ who actually care about winning and aren’t demanding 55 million dollars PER YEAR when they are 37 years old as a condition to stay with the team?

Maybe pay your ophthalmologist a visit. Tell him you see great defense by CJ. He won't even run tests.
