Got my tickets for Saturday and before the Seatgeek algorithm kicked in. Still hard to watch the match when they are being offered at $1k each.
Lucky man! Spent two hours refreshing to no avail. Such a scam. 10 year season ticket holder to boot.
I was offered to work the game with ABC and I politely declined. Going to watch on the couch with my step dad. My parents had season tickets in the late 70s early 80s…. Grew up going with them. Some of you old school fans might remember Bernie Fagan from back then. He lives a few blocks from us and I run into him up at our neighborhood Starbucks….. happened to see him yesterday and we had a nice 20 minute chat about the team and his days. Great way to get ready for the big match!!!! #RCTID
My daughter wanted to drive up and go, then she looked at the prices and said never mind dad, lets watch from home. Crazy the GA tickets are $575 each right now. I told my wife and daughter they need to bring back Timber Jim for this one. Anyone remember him climbing the tree and slicing a slab off the top. He might be a little old for that now though.
The Trail Blazers head of PR Jim Taylor was able to get 2 tickets way up in a crappy section…… reason I mention this, he basically formed the Timber’s army and ran the team for a few seasons. The MLS isn’t joking around! No comp tix or freebies of ANY kind.
By refreshing, it may have put you at the start of the que. I initially was in a waitroom on my desktop. People on Facebook said they were having better luck with the app on their phone. Cost $150 each and may just stop looking at what they are selling for and enjoy the match.
I find it insane that the Timbers are a hotter ticket than the Blazers in Portland at the moment. 200 level seats for $10 against the Clips. Come on.
I made it past the que but every time I put tickets in my cart they were no longer available. Ofcourse now there are a ton for three times the price.
Seems pretty rational to me. One team is playing for the championship, the other team... isn't, to put it gently. barfo
I got screwed on tickets for the Final! I've been a season ticket holder since 2012. They had been telling me no rush to renew my tickets for next year for months and then last Saturday they sent an email saying I had to renew my tickets for next year by midnight Sunday to be in the pre-sale at 10 AM. I didn't read the email until Monday and I renewed Monday morning but to no avail. I'm extremely bitter!
Maybe the Timbers can be inspiration for the Blazers. Over halfway through the season the Timbers had a losing record, were 1-7-2 on the road and were 9th in the west. Now they're hosting the championship.
I am just glad that MLS Cup has not evolved to the level of the Super Bowl yet. When the Colts made their two trips recently, no way was I going to pay for travel as well as an over thousand dollar ticket to attend the game. Did checkout the events prior to the game when it was in Indy. For this game, at least some season ticket holders were able to get affordable seats and no travel is involved. Tickets are starting to drop. Hopefully they are not all bought up by NY fans.
At least baseball has actual things happening on the field more than once every 45 minutes. I could keep going, but I'll just take the win now.
