Decent effort tonight...we're not a good 3 pt shooting team much these days...tough to win without the deep shot clickin'

CJ just needs shipped out. You can't sit 30M every minute that Dame plays and that's what is needed for us to be effective. Norm sitting can't be an option if you're serious about defense but him playing forward at 6'3" also is not an option if you want to have defensive success.

Applaud the effort the last couple of night. It's a shame you have to get down to a large rotation of 2nd and 3rd stringers to get it.

Nas probably pushed too hard to fast after not playing for a while. Impressive showing of exactly the type of player we need. In fact, I'd like to see him as a swing between the 2/3 and get another wing add to the front court.

Blazers fall to 11-15 on the season and have lost 7 of their last 8 games. Come talk about the game with us!

Try not to do that to Aldo. It puts him on repeat.

CJ can not only go to the bench, he can get the fuck outta town. The passing and ball movement is so much better without CJ constantly dribbling the air outta the ball. I’m sure Cronin sees this too. Hopefully he has the balls to make a trade to balance the roster. A competent 12-15 ppg PF or long, athletic, defensive minded wing would be a nice get if he can swing either for CJ.

obviously, but i don't want to simply dump CJ for someone taller, nor do i want to trade him while his value is at its lowest. our only hope for building anything of significance around dame in the short term is to find the right deal for CJ.

i really like norm's attitude and fight. and his contract is very reasonable. no need to give up an efficient starter like him.

Norm iso takes 1-2 seconds with 2 or 3 dribbles. CJ iso takes 9-12 seconds with 15 dribbles

Good effort. Thought we dug in on defense for the most part.

The one thing that irked me was the open post offense with absolutely no movement. Such a contrast to the team we were playing. One guy handling the ball and four guys standing. Very easy to guard people who don't move.

these stats are actually available, so no need to guess.

    Norm: 2.68 seconds per touch, 2.15 dribbles, 0.55 pts/touch.
    CJ: 4.4 seconds per touch, 3.88 dribbles, 0.33 pts/touch

honestly, i expected CJ's to be far more. Think it's just exaggerated because he gets 63 touches per game, while Norm gets only 31.

Yeah, CJ gets a lot of quick touches from Nurk when their running that weave action up top that never seems to turn into much. Then he has his touches out there on the wing where he dribbles the air out of the ball. I don't think they are a huge percentage of his overall touches, they are just very very loud. You can't ignore it when CJ gets the ball with 12 or 13 seconds on the shot clock and then dribbles the ball until the clock is down to three or four seconds before he makes a move or fires a step back.

that is for ALL touches. I was talking about isolation plays; about 12% of CJ's offense. PnR ball handler is 34%. I am certain his seconds + dribbles per iso and PnR are a hell of lot more than those numbers. Those numbers you cited include spot-up (16% of his offense) & catch-and-shoot (19% of his shots) which probably average about a half-second of possession and zero dribbles...meaning his possession time and dribbles get ratcheted way up on those MeJ plays
