Whats your preferred shipping company? Mines always been UPS.
But really my main purpose of this thread is to turn people off from Fed ex based on the below experiences:

So id like to let the powers that be, know about my experiences with fed ex over the last week.

My wife and i ordered a new phone and line. We specifically asked for the package to not be delivered with a signature required. However it was shipped with that requirement.
That is on the phone company.
However when the product arrived, they left a door tag with a printed tracking number on it and a number to call.
So i call the number. Its an automated service requesting the tracking number before i can proceed.
I enter the tracking number and the voice tells me it is invalid. So i ask for a customer service rep. The voce then says, i can do that but first i must have a valid tracking number. I ask again for customer service and the voice says without a valid tracking number i cannot help you.
So i hang up and call back and choose the claims option. After battling the auto voice for a few minutes, basically making up a claim story to get a live person on the phone i finally got someone.
She then told me the tracking number doesn't exist. And she cant help me. No driver note on the door tag, no vLid tracking number and so no way to find the package to try to figure out how to have it rerouted.

So i call back the next day and after more auto voice battles finally get someone on the phone who found the package. So now i ask for it to be changed to be left at the door without a signature.

She said they cant change it.
I said okay then reroute it to my work where im at every day.
Nope sorry cant do that either.
So now the only way to get the package is for me to have to drive to another city and pick it up.
I will be doing that tomorrow.
Now i come home from work today to find another package delivered. Set on our cement porch. Or should i say dropped or slammed?
The bottle inside was busted and leaked all over. However with how the box was on the porch it was obvious it broke right there, as the only soaked side of the box was the one on the ground( with moisture creeping up the sides)
    I mean wth???

What is it with this piss poor customer service?
Drive cant scan the tag he left so the tracking number gets into their system? Fed ex wont allow me to reroute a package????
Fed ex cant handle packaged with a little bit of care when delivering them????????

Ive been a shipping manager for years and ship out thousands and thousands of pounds a day.

    This is unacceptable customer service…..

Edit: i posted this on their customer complaints page but after reading a bunch of similar complaints and the lack of responses from fed ex? Im going public with this….

Dont ever use fed ex. Ask the company you are having ship something to you, who they ship through. Avoid any company that only uses fed ex…

I like UPS. I have a UPS store mailbox for mail and packages, makes it easy, sending stuff out is pretty easy.

Fed Ex has always sucked. I've heard many people having issues with them lately.

To be honest, USPS kinda sucks too.

DHL used to be great, but they exited the US market, I think they are only international or you can receive only from out of the country or some shit.

Fed Ex ground isnt very good. They use private contractors.
UPS ground is hard to beat.

UPS ground is great. USPS is far less expensive and often faster. Though the tracking isn't quite as good.

Ordered underwear and sweats from Hanes a few weeks ago and they were sent by DHL, which took like two weeks. They were shipped from Kentucky right before those tornadoes though, so that could be a factor.

Amazon should probably be on option too. I think my family gets more things delivered by them than anyone else, but I guess that's not really what this thread is about. Sorry about the hassle OB. I've been there before, what a pain in the ass.

I had fedex throw a box in the wet snow at the end of the driveway recently. Was half-covered when I found it and the box was falling apart.

Well, why did you have them throw it in the snow? Shoulda had them put it on the porch.

I think I was wrong about him going out to get it half covered...it's more likely he ripped half his clothes off before he got to it.
