Are these two missing pieces that would enable us to build around Dame, Nurkic, Ant, Little, Watford and Brown?

How about Powell + RoCo for John Collins + Bogdanovic ?

and CJ, Snell and #2 pick for Jerami Grant and Kelly Olynyk?

    Dame / Smith
    Simons / Bogdanovic / McLemore
    Grant /Little
John Collins / Olynyk / Watford
    Nurkic / Zeller / Brown

I think this group is solid AND deep and fairly young

Funny to me how you keep advocating trading for Moses Brown and Dort. We had both those players at one time for pennies on the dollar.

This is something I look at doing 100% by the trade deadline, but I feel like there might those who think this is too much for Nurk.

    Nurkic for Wiseman + their 2022 1st.

I think you'd have to take out the 1st. I still don't know if they would go for it, but do think he could be a good fit there.

I don’t remember that. I remember the team working him out during the draft process but that’s about it.

The other guy we should have kept besides Brown was GP2.

At this point, I think you have to trade Norm+CJ and try to surround Dame and Ant with the best defensive frontcourt possible.

My dream lineup going into next year would be:
    Damian Lillard
    Anfernee Simons
    Ben Simmons
    Chet Holmgren
    Myles Turner

Gotta try to flip some combination of CJ, Norm, RoCo, Nurkic, Little, Nance, and future 1sts to get enough assets to land both Turner and Simmons then pray for some literary luck.

Four shooters around Ben and a Mobley/Allen style frontcourt with better 3pt shooting at the 4 & 5 would work. Mobley and Allen have been enough for the Cavaliers to play good defense with a Garland/Sexton backcourt early in the season with Lauri Markkanen at the 3.

so, going from Dame/CJ to Dame/Ant. Seems like a reboot of all the issues the former pairing created, but with maybe worse defense in the back court. Ant as CJ 2.0. And of course, the Blazers do not have the assets to get both Simmons and Turner. Winning the lottery just adds to the fantasy I guess

Simons should be made just as available in a trade as CJ and Powell....unless the Blazers go full rebuild and trade everybody over 24

I think Simons can be a better on ball defender than CJ. He has more athletic ability for sure. I think he and Dame would be better playing off each other too.

Trade value wise, I think both the following are more than reasonable:

CJ and three 1sts for Simmons
Little and two 1sts for Turner

Trade RoCo and our 2nd to Chicago for our first back opens up our future 1sts enough to get Simmons. Then you'd just need to get two firsts out of Norm, Nurkic, and Nance which is certainly doable.

Would need lottery luck but that's why I said it's my "dream" lineup.

if we're planning our rebuild around a dame/ant backcourt, cronin needs to be stopped before he gets to it. Ant is either gonna be our fulltime PG with a Dame trade or he's the super 6th man.

Myles Turner is doo doo (relative to the perception about his game) I wish I didn’t have to read another trade proposal including him ever again.

Nurk had more rebounds yesterday than Turner had in his last three games combined. A truly horrible rebounder considering his physical tools. His blocks come mainly as a help defender. He gets moved in the post easily by anyone with size. He has no desire/urgency to do the dirty work necessary to be an offensive force. I’ve seen plays called for him in the post where he just gives up on getting into position. His shooting is average. There’s a reason why he couldn’t develop into a focal point offensively under multiple coaches, including one of the most offensive friendly ones in Carlisle. “Oh but he can switch on the perimeter.” You think he’s keeping any guards in today’s league in front of him? Nope. No center is. Go watch the clippers series against the Jazz last playoffs when they made Gobert look like a punk. If you don’t have perimeter defenders, any center will struggle.

I could read a million proposals suggesting trading Nurk, but he will always be my #1 option. If I’m the only one, so be it. No one is gonna give him a crazy contract. We have no internal option to replace him. He’s one of our only good defenders. He’s still only 27. If the Warriors are actually interested in him you anti Nurk dorks should second guess yourselves as to what they’re appreciating about his game you aren’t. If he goes over there he will make a big impact and win a ring. Could you imagine the space he’d create for Curry and the passing freedom Kerr would give him? JFC.

There are a lot more reasons to re-sign him than to trade him. Hopefully Cronin is smarter than that/End rant.

If we didn’t get high enough to get Chet, are you trading up to get him? Or would you be interested in the following lineup as well?

    Damian Lillard
    Anfernee Simons
    Bennedict Mathurin
    Ben Simmons
    Myles Turner

If we were in a position where we’re #3 and only Banchero is left, I would consider trading down and getting assets on top of Mathurin.

I guess timeline would be everything for this scenario. Turner would probably be the first move. Are you trading for Ben at the deadline or at the draft? If you’re trading for him this deadline, do you just give him the rest of the year off to get his mind right for next season to improve lotto odds? My fear is Simons + Ben + Turner still might get your record to be good enough that it’s really only the 10th pick. Mathurin has good size and athleticism. He won’t be Chet on defense, but he’s a good defender and can shoot the 3 already.

I've been defending Nurkic all season. Taken a ton of heat for it to. I like Nurkic and think he'd be a great fit in Golden State due to his screen setting and passing ability, and have stated that multiple times. JFC.

We wouldn't need Turner to be a focal point offensively or to run post-ups for him.

If we get Simmons, I'm weary about having two non-shooters out there when Dame has the ball, and would want as much floor spacing for Simmons as possible. I don't want Turner without a Simmons trade.

I'm not a high on Mathurins defense, but in that scenario you have options since Simmons can be cast as the 3 or the 4. We could trade the pick for something also. If we're at 3 and it's Banchero you take him IMO. At 4 the only pick is Ivey so it'd be interesting to see what we'd do there.

you know for sure he’s not? Because that’s the only scenario I’m trading him.
