    What do you believe the Blazers most valuable asset is outside of Dame?

    CJ age 30 - 2 more years $34.5M per year then unrestricted
    Powell age 28 - 4 more years $18.6M per year then unrestricted
    Simons age 22 - 0 more years will be restricted free agent
    Little age 21 - 1 more year $4.2M then will be restricted free agent
    Nurkic age 27 - 0 more years will be unrestricted free agent

    Picks obviously have some complication and restrictions to trade; but it would be the value if it's in the lottery (which is 98% of a picks trade value anyways)

    Dame age 31 - 2 more years $44.1M per year then $48.8M player option

    Edit; another way of thinking of this, is who would you most want the Blazers to hold onto in a trade.

    Powell, RoCo/Little/Nurk & CJ are players we should try and convert to at least one legit all star type player and a young player.

    I voted for Simons being the most valuable due to using his recent performances and overall improvement this season. He would probably be the most asked about by playoff teams that need a bit more punch off the bench.

    Good question but I dont think its a simple answer, just because there are a lot of factors. I think CJ is currently the best player of the bunch that is "expendable" but he also makes the most and only fits playoff type teams. Simons has the highest ceiling, but he's also had the smallest sample of success. His contract also makes it difficult to get proper value in return, so someone like RoCo would need to be added. Powell is paid properly for what he brings and has a large enough sample where a GM can feel comfortable with what he's getting. He's the most likely to get dealt for something nice in return imo. A Simons trade should only be considered for a STAR (no, not Jerami Grant and maybe not even Simmons although that would be hard to construct anyway which goes back to my first point about his value)

    Simons is definitely our most valuable asset but we’d be crazy to trade him

    here's a question; forget the logistics ie matching salaries....what some what realistic players would you trade Simons for?

    Maybe a better way to view this is who do you personally value the most, as in who would you least want the Blazers to give up in a trade?

    Norm is the best on the list due to CJs untradeable contract....Ant doesn't get you enough cap relief unless you just trade him for picks. I think Nurk, Nance and Norm and Roco are the top 4 trade chips for getting under the cap and bringing back enough talent on reasonable deals. You could package one of those guys with CJ and bring back another big contract or probably trade CJ for an aging Kevin Love type deal. He also has a toxic contract.

    Not including Dame?

    1. Nurkic
    2. Simons
    3. Nas

    Wouldn't lose sleep over anyone else getting moved, although I wouldnt really like the idea of trading anyone that defends (ie RoCo, Nance) either

    Essentially, I just wanna trade CJ and Norm and then take it from there.

    Still quite a few players. All stars from last year I would trade him for;

    Durant, Beal, Leonard, Tatum, Harden, LaVine, Mitchell, Booker, Anthony Davis, Embiid, LeBron, Giannis, Curry, Doncic, Jokic, Jaylen Brown, George, Lillard, Domantas Sabonis, Simmons

    Plus a lot of young players I'd trade him for. I would not trade him for the below all stars, but more so because I don't think they provide much value on max contracts and they don't have young upside;

    Kyrie Irving, Mike Conley, Julius Randle, Zion, Vucevic, Gobert, Chris Paul

    I'd say if anything this exercise shows how hard it will be to surround Dame with one or more additional all stars to contend soon.

    I added Nurk to the poll.... I assumed we'd trade him for a mediocre pick so I didn't even think of listing him but many fans probably think as you do.

    Ant has the highest ceiling, so I will go with him followed by Nas. Nurkic isn't even in the same league as those two. Nobody is drooling to sign Nurkic. He has peaked and is injury prone. I like what he does a lot, but WYSIWYG. Ant and Nas have all star potential, especially Ant. Nurk will never be an all-star.

    I think there will be or are multiple teams calling about Ant. If you get a bidding war going, he could net you a lot of draft capital... far more than anyone else on the team besides Dame. That's just the way I gauge value.

    Would PHI be crazy to do a sign-and-trade with us where we get Simmons and they get Simons + 2-3 1sts this summer?

    No but Philly would be crazy to sit on Ben Simmons for an entire year... what a waste that would be for them.

    about 10 days ago, almost nobody would have picked Simons as the most valuable asset

    showing the power of recency bias, and the hype of a tiny sample size of offense in 5 straight home games against bad defenders. Remember Linsaninty?

    in that scenario who are we trading as cap filler? I doubt Philly wants CJ and Simons

    Personally I would only include him in a trade that would give us a legit shot at a championship in the next 3 years. If we could get some combination of guys like Jason Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Anthony Davis, Ben Simmons, Kawhi, KAT, PG. If we had to include him in a package with all our other assets to get 2 of those guys I would do it. I know it’s only been 5 games but I just see some Kobe in him and I love his demeanor on the court, never rattled. So I value him pretty fucking highly, but I’ve been wrong before.
