Protected 1-18 this year. Charlotte currently 20th. Think it will probably convey, but either way a late first and a second is a lot lower than what they were probably expecting.

So we get a little noise with trades but on our part I be surprised if CJ get traded at deadline due to Dame being out. Powell maybe and Roco to me is the one that will go with possible Smith or elleby and maybe even brown as fillers. Nurk I believe stays and sign a contract next year and playing with us. I believe he to entrenched with Portland and with Dame. But of course I could be wrong too.

practically speaking, this would be the best time to trade CJ. It would make no sense for CJ to come back and start dominating the ball and usage again. I saw a stat last year that when CJ plays and Dame was out, CJ's average usage was in the 33-34% range. That's around top-5. Teams know what CJ is; there's no reason to 'showcase' him

let Simons and Little lead the team in opportunity...and try and tank

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ame-lillard-surgery-impact-ben-simmons-market

Teams have been waiting on the looming uncertainty regarding Damian Lillard's health in Portland. There remains a strong possibility that Lillard's upcoming abdominal surgery is season-ending, sources told B/R, after Lillard first contemplated going under the knife this past offseason following the Tokyo Olympics.

    1. Lillard's absence should also introduce another seller into a trade market otherwise overcrowded with buyers. It seems Blazers personnel had originally planned to improve their roster around Lillard rather than bottom out for a top draft pick.

Portland and Indiana seemed to be natural trade partners, two small-market teams underperforming based on preseason expectations but with a current shared goal of contending for the postseason. The Blazers had been frequently mentioned by league sources as a strong Myles Turner destination, while Detroit's Jerami Grant also emerged as a potential Portland target. But if Lillard is indefinitely sidelined, that would seem to further increase the likelihood of Jusuf Nurkic and Robert Covington heading elsewhere.

Anfernee Simons' recent explosion also has league executives chattering about the future of CJ McCollum in Portland, and to a lesser extent that of Norman Powell. Simons is headed for a lucrative restricted free agency this summer, and Portland is already trying to evade paying the luxury tax.

Assessing the interest for McCollum is somewhat difficult given his recent collapsed lung and a decline in production at the age of 30. But former GM Neil Olshey's regime valued McCollum quite highly, and there's a sense among some rival executives that McCollum would have a sizable market at a lower evaluation than Olshey may have held.

    1. Roughly a dozen teams pursued Powell ahead of last season's deadline, when Portland acquired him from Toronto. The 28-year-old's five-year, $90 million contract is considered relatively valuable among several league personnel polled by B/R.

There's some belief that Powell would be open to a new destination. Negotiations over his five-year deal to re-sign in Portland this summer hit several snags, according to league sources, and Powell certainly eyed other destinations, such as New Orleans. The Pelicans do happen to be searching for significant upgrades in their quest to rebound into the play-in tournament, sources said, although McCollum would seem to make more sense as a target for New Orleans.
Both Powell and CJ may be on the move...

Problem is, I don't want anything outside of Ingram from NO. Even their picks are kinda trash outside their own.

Fischer has been saying for weeks now that David Griffin is on a scalding seat right now and is desperate for the playoffs. I wonder if he'd do a lightly protected first for CJ. But it's still hard to come up with matching salary that won't be on the books long term.

The protections on that LAL pick are unclear. I think it might convey to Memphis in the current scenario, but here's an option.

I would be trying to extort two firsts from NO. Powell's deal is a good one in a league where the salary cap is increasing each year. OR, I would be trying to return Josh Hart and a first instead. Fischer mentions McCollum as more likely, but it's too hard to find matching salary.

might need to make something of that OKC 20 mil under salary floor option.

something like this with a load of picks from NO coming our way.

I'd be down for that. I'd rather route Hart here though and take less firsts. He's a perfect fit as an athletic wing that can do it all. Great guy next to Dame. If they want to move Dame after though, then this would make more sense.

Josh Hart is averaging 4.4 assists per game at a 20% assist rate. I think Chauncey would LOVE that. His previous career high was 10%. Showing a ton of improvement at age 26.

i like hart too. but only as a 6th man type. no room for 6'5 PFs in our rebuild.

Powell for Hart works financially, fwiw and it gets us under the tax effectively.

He's only playing PF because he has to. He can slot in as a 2-4 here.

I’m targeting Herb Jones if I’m Cronin.

kid is putting up 13-7-4 on decent efficiency. Even his defensive metrics are good. If they would take Powell straight up because they need scoring, I'm sold. Call it in.

I doubt they’d give up Herb but if they would then we have to take it and run
